Who said summer was a slow season? Showrooms are opening everywhere. Continue reading for EAL’s roundup of the latest from coast to coast.
EAST COAST
Benjamin Moore opened a new 3,300-square-foot showroom in the New York Design Center that highlights its paint offerings. The showroom’s theme is “color gallery” and it offers room inspiration as well as product descriptions.
Liaigre opened a second New York showroom in the NoMad neighborhood, its third in the U.S. The space spans two floors and 6,000 square feet, and is now the brand’s largest.
Skram Furniture redesigned its NYDC showroom, adorning it with a number of its spring 2018 launches, as well as brand staples and custom pieces. The space also features a variety of vignettes, including a hotel bar and bedroom setups.
Lillian August Furnishings and Design opened its largest Greenwich, Connecticut, showroom yet. The new atelier comes at a time when the brand is trying to expand its retail presence in Fairfield County.
Eco-conscious lighting brand Stickbulb opened a new location in Long Island City, Queens. The 10,000-square-foot space has a studio, workshop and showroom, featuring pieces from its fire and ice collection as well as “Ambassador,” which took home Best in Show last year at NYCxDesign.
Poltrona Frau opened a flagship showroom in the Miami Design District as part of its strategy to increase the brand’s visibility on the international market. The 4,300-square-foot, two-floor space has a section dedicated to its leather product, with 120 different kinds available.
Summer Classics and Gabby Contract have opened adjoining showrooms at AmericasMart in Atlanta. Gabby Contract is a member of Gabriella White LLC, the parent company of Summer Classics. This is the first permanent showroom space for Summer Classics.
MIDWEST
Divano Lounge opened its first U.S. showroom in the Design Center at Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The 2,727-square-foot space features the brand’s outdoor furniture. Also at the Mart, Cai Designs and Ebel both expanded their showrooms.
WEST COAST
Ebanista opened a flagship showroom in Los Angeles. The 3,800-square-foot space features an American-made collection of furnishings that has zebrawood and Calcutta, among other decor.
German kitchen luxury brand SieMatic opened its flagship kitchen design studio in San Francisco. The 950-square-foot space caters to the trade.
Garde has opened its second California location, in Santa Barbara County. The renovated farmhouse features a retail store on its first floor and an Airbnb apartment on the second floor. There is a coop of silkie chickens that reside near the outside patio.
ASIA
Carl Hansen & Son opened its second Japanese flagship, in Osaka. Japan is the Danish brand’s second largest market, outside of Scandinavia itself.
