We're hiring a Junior Designer to work directly with one of our Lead Designers on full-service residential projects, from concept through installation. Most of our work is new construction, large renovations, and full furnishings for waterfront and equestrian homes in Palm Beach County.
This is a support role. You won't be running projects on your own yet, but you'll be part of every phase, building the experience to lead your own projects down the road.
A lot of your time will go to sourcing. You'll research furniture, lighting, finishes, plumbing, and accessories, get pricing, lead times, and specs from vendors, and help with material selections and samples. You'll prepare materials for our four core client meetings (Kickoff, Concept, Working, and Final) and come to client meetings, vendor appointments, and installs as needed.
You'll create and revise floor plans, furniture plans, and elevations in SketchUp or AutoCAD, put together finish schedules and spec packages, and help measure and document existing spaces.
On procurement, you'll handle vendor quotes, reserves, and lead times, prepare purchase orders and invoices in Design Files, and track orders and deliveries. You'll work with receivers, installers, and contractors to keep things on schedule, and flag delays to your Lead before they become client problems.
You'll also keep project files and Google Drive organized, manage sample orders, returns, and the sample library, and help with shipping, receiving, and install prep.
Pay is a $60,000 base salary plus tiered profit share on every furnishings project you support. We also offer unlimited time off, a hybrid schedule with regular in-studio time, a phone stipend, continuing education support, and a dog-friendly office.
This role is meant to grow. As you build experience, there's a real path to leading your own projects and client relationships.
You should have at least 1 to 2 years of residential interior design experience. You're proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar drafting software, and you can put together drawings and FF&E schedules with your Lead's oversight. You're comfortable using Canva or similar software for presentations, you know your way around Google Workspace, and you either know Design Files or a similar program or are eager to learn it.
You're very organized and can keep a lot of moving pieces straight at once. You communicate clearly, in writing and in person. A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design is preferred.
You'll need a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance, since you'll be heading to job sites, vendors, and installs. You should be based in Florida or open to relocating to West Palm Beach.
As for how you work, you're humble and coachable, and you're comfortable supporting someone else's vision while you build your own. You're collaborative, with no ego and no "above me" or "below me" thinking. You stay calm under pressure, you're detail-oriented and reliable, and you get the work done, whatever hat it takes.
To apply, email your resume, portfolio, and a short intro to erica@eralyninteriors.com. In the intro, tell us about a project you supported start to finish and what your role was, how many years you've worked in interior design or a related role, and your favorite movie in all caps.
