POSITION SUMMARY
We're seeking a highly skilled, Senior Interior Designer with excellence in FF&E to lead the design for high end residential projects concentrated in the Caribbean and East Coast. Working in close collaboration with the Design Director, you will be a high-level contributor to executing the vision through life cycle of the project. This role calls for technical rigor and high-touch, "white-glove" approach to client service. You will be supported by a Junior Designer, Assistant Project Manager, Accounting and Logistics team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advanced Presentation & Communication: Excel at delivering compelling, visually-driven design presentations to discerning high-net-worth clients. You must be able to articulate a cohesive design narrative and provide clear, professional project updates in conjunction with management team.
- Architectural Integration: Provide critical design input to the Architectural Designer to ensure all details are accurately reflected in the interior architectural Revit modeling and drafting phases.
- Strategic Space Planning: Develop masterful furniture layouts and floor plans that optimize scale, flow, and the unique requirements of indoor-outdoor Caribbean living that functions for daily family life as well as hosting large social gatherings.
- Bespoke FF&E Selection: Source and specify luxury wall finishings, furniture, lighting, and textiles, with a specialized focus on high- performance materials capable of withstanding tropical and coastal climates and high use.
- Custom Furniture Design: Create detailed technical drawings and elevations for bespoke furniture and cabinetry to be executed by master craftsmen.
- Management Leadership: Mentor Junior Designer, collaborate with Accounting and Logistics to ensure seamless execution across multiple project, simultaneously.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Presentation Excellence: Mastery in visual storytelling and written and spoken English [Spanish is a bonus]; able to instill confidence in clients [and all stakeholders] during high-stakes presentations.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's/Master's in Interior Design or Architecture and 7+ years in high-end residential interior design with a focus on comprehensive FF&E packages.
- Technical Mastery: Proficiency in AutoCAD [Revit is a plus], Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Rhino to create high quality drawing sets, detailed furniture plans, complex custom detailing, elevations and models for presentation and coordinate into architectural models.
- Construction Knowledge: strong understanding of interior construction, millwork detailing [lighting RCP a plus]
- Market Knowledge: Deep familiarity with luxury trade vendors and technical material specifications for diverse environments.
- Leadership: Excellence of team and client leadership with a sense of ownership of tasks and outcomes.
