Liz Caan & Co. is a boutique full-service interior design firm specializing in bespoke residential interiors ranging from historic renovations to thoughtfully detailed new construction homes. We are seeking a full-time Senior Interior Designer / Senior Project Manager to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing all phases of high-end residential interior design projects from concept through installation. This role requires the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating closely with the Principal, design team, architects, builders, artisans, and clients. The position combines creative design thinking with exceptional organization, communication, and project management skills.
Qualified candidates must possess a refined design sensibility, a strong understanding of architecture and furnishings, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to confidently manage complex projects with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities Include:
Reporting directly to the Principal and assisting in the management and mentorship of junior team members
Managing multiple residential projects from concept development through final installation
Developing and coordinating furniture plans, elevations, millwork details, lighting plans, and design drawing sets
Assisting in the development of interior architectural details, color palettes, material selections, furnishings, decorative lighting, and styling
Maintaining and communicating FF&E schedules, specifications, budgets, proposals, and purchase orders
Coordinating with architects, contractors, vendors, and workrooms throughout all phases of construction and installation
Participating in client presentations, site meetings and vendor visits
Supporting the firm’s thoughtful, layered, and highly detailed approach to residential design
Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in high-end residential interior design
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
Strong technical drawing and space planning skills
High level of proficiency in AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Studio Designer (or equivalent)
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, highly creative studio environment
Passion for craftsmanship, architecture, decorative arts, and thoughtfully layered interiors
