Studio Bloom is proud to represent the search for a boutique luxury residential design studio in Chelsea, Manhattan, just steps from FIT and Penn Station. Known for creating sophisticated, highly personalized homes, Francis Interiors specializes in thoughtfully designed interiors that balance beauty, functionality, and exceptional craftsmanship.
Working closely with discerning clients, architects, consultants, artisans, and builders, the studio leads complex residential renovations from concept through installation. Every project is deeply customized—from intricate millwork and bespoke furnishings to detailed construction documentation and seamless execution. Their work is rooted in timeless design, exceptional craftsmanship, and creating homes that authentically reflect the people who live in them.
This is an opportunity for an experienced, mid to senior level luxury residential designer who is looking for more than simply managing projects. It's a chance to become one of the Principal's closest collaborators within a boutique studio where your ideas, initiative, and technical expertise will genuinely shape both the projects and the future of the business.
Working directly alongside Francis, you'll help lead sophisticated projects from concept through installation while bringing structure, momentum, and technical expertise to every stage of the design process. Your days will be varied—balancing design development, technical documentation, consultant coordination, construction administration, client interaction, job site visits, and problem-solving.
We're seeking a designer with 5–10 years of luxury residential experience, who has successfully led complex projects and possesses an exceptional technical foundation. While experience is important, we're ultimately more interested in the depth of your expertise, your mindset, and your ability to independently move projects forward.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Collaborate with Principal on luxury residential projects from concept through installation.
Produce and/or oversee detailed drawing sets, construction documentation, custom millwork, and technical design packages.
Develop thoughtful space plans, design concepts, presentations, and furniture, lighting, finish, and material specifications.
Coordinate architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, schedules, and day-to-day project activities to keep projects organized and moving forward.
Participate in construction administration, site visits, installations, and field coordination while proactively identifying and resolving project challenges.
Utilize AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Studio Designer, Asana, and related software to support project execution and procurement coordination.
Represent Francis Interiors with professionalism and polish when interacting with clients, consultants, and industry partners.
As trust is built, take on increasing ownership of client communication, presentations, project leadership, and future team mentorship.
