Proper Tile & Stone is seeking a highly motivated, design-savvy Business Development & Sales Associate to help grow our presence within the Los Angeles design and architecture community. This role combines proactive business development and relationship building with showroom sales, client service, and sales order management.

The ideal candidate is an outgoing, highly organized relationship builder who is comfortable prospecting for new business, developing meaningful relationships with design professionals, and converting those relationships into projects and long-term accounts. You should have a strong interest in interiors and materials, an appreciation for Proper’s curated aesthetic, and the ability to make clients feel both welcomed and expertly supported.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being out in the design community as much as they enjoy working in the showroom.

Base Salary plus commission (no cap).

Proven track record and 8+ years in tile sales, business development, and account growth
Established relationships within the Los Angeles interior design, architecture, construction, and/or trade community, with the ability to bring existing clients and cultivate new accounts.
Strong product knowledge and experience selling tile and stone, including an understanding of materials, finishes, formats, installation considerations, pricing, lead times, and project requirements.
A confident, proactive salesperson who is comfortable prospecting, developing relationships, closing opportunities, and consistently growing a book of business.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple clients, projects, quotes, orders, and follow-ups while maintaining an elevated level of service.
Design-savvy with a genuine appreciation for interiors, architecture, and distinctive materials; able to understand a designer’s vision and translate it into thoughtful product recommendations.
Strong communicator with a polished, personable presence and the ability to represent Proper Tile & Stone authentically within the design community.
Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and accountable, with the initiative to identify opportunities and build relationships without extensive direction.
