A high-end residential interior design firm is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our growing team. This role reports directly to the principal.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of experience, a passion for design, and extensive knowledge of the industry. The candidate must be highly motivated, collaborative, client-focused, professional, organized, and capable of working independently. They must also have the skills and initiative to take ownership of projects from conception through installation.

Qualifications
A minimum of four years of experience in high-end residential interior design
Creativity and a strong eye for sophisticated design
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Design Manager is a plus
Knowledge of high-end showrooms, product lines, and makers
Experience designing custom furniture and reviewing construction and millwork details and drawings
Exceptional attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills
A team-oriented approach and an appreciation for collaboration
A responsible and conscientious self-starter who is focused on meeting or exceeding internal and external expectations
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also working independently and proactively with minimal supervision
Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
A solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
A professional, elegant, and polished personal presence
Ability to travel frequently to our East Hampton office to collaborate with the principal
Responsibilities
Develop compelling vision boards that reflect the client’s parameters and the principal’s vision
Use AutoCAD to develop furniture plans and elevations and detail production pieces as needed
Design, render, and execute custom furniture designs
Research, source, and specify materials, furnishings, lighting, fabrics, and finishes
Request samples and materials as needed for design schemes and presentations
Create and manage project schedules, including finish, plumbing, tile, and paint schedules
Prepare for and lead client presentations and meetings as needed
Maintain current and accurate project folders, presentations, and drawings as projects progress through completion
Attend site visits, client meetings, and internal meetings with the project manager and principal
Manage project installations
Take ownership of maintaining and organizing the MCD sample library
