The Role
This is a relationship-driven sales role for someone who knows—and genuinely enjoys—the architecture
and interior design community. Based remotely in South Florida, you'll initially focus on developing
relationships and business in Miami, Palm Beach, Naples, and other key Florida markets, with the
opportunity to expand the territory throughout the Southeast as the business grows. We're looking for someone who is entrepreneurial and excited by the idea of building a territory from the ground up. You'll introduce Ellis Works to designers, architects, builders, developers, and other trade partners, develop new relationships, uncover project opportunities, and nurture those accounts into
long-term clients. This is a full-time, Monday–Thursday position with a compensation structure consisting of salary plus
commission.
Who We're Looking For
You're personable, polished, proactive, and comfortable walking into a design firm and building a relationship from scratch. You understand that luxury trade sales is a long game—it's as much about becoming a trusted resource as it is about closing an individual order. You are self-directed and highly organized, but also collaborative. Because this is a remote position within a small team, we're looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates well, and doesn't need a highly structured corporate environment to stay motivated. Experience within the architecture and design industry is strongly preferred, particularly in decorative hardware, plumbing, lighting, furniture, surfaces, textiles, or another trade-focused interiors category. Existing relationships within the South Florida architecture and design community are a significant plus. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to join a young company, help shape how we approach a new market, and make the Southeast territory their own.
What You'll Do
● Build and grow Ellis Works' trade business throughout South Florida, with an initial focus on Miami, Palm Beach, Naples, and other key Florida accounts.
● Develop the broader Southeast territory over time, identifying markets and relationships with the
greatest potential for growth.
● Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with interior designers, architects, builders,
developers, and other trade partners.
● Schedule and lead in-person presentations, sample meetings, office visits, and other
opportunities to introduce the Ellis Works collection.
● Build and actively manage a pipeline of new accounts, specifications, and project opportunities.
● Manage relationships from initial introduction through specification, quoting, order placement, and
repeat business.
● Become an expert on Ellis Works' collections, finishes, materials, lead times, and technical
details, serving as a knowledgeable resource for clients.
● Maintain consistent follow-up with clients and prospective accounts while keeping sales activity
and opportunities organized within our CRM.
● Work closely with our internal sales and operations teams on samples, quotes, orders, project
needs, and client follow-up.
● Represent Ellis Works at industry events, showroom gatherings, and other relevant
design-community events throughout the territory.
●Share feedback, competitive insight, and market intelligence with the broader team as we
continue to develop our products, programs, and sales strategy.
Ellis Works was started by industry professionals who saw room in the market for something different: design-forward hardware with distinctive, living finishes, attainable lead times, thoughtful pricing, and a more straightforward specification and ordering process.
Our hardware is designed, engineered, and finished in our Brooklyn studio. We stock our unfinished components and finish pieces to order, allowing us to offer a broad range of hand-applied finishes while maintaining lead times that work for real projects. Alongside our core collections, we collaborate with artists and designers on more expressive collections that explore material, form, and craft. We're still early in the Ellis Works story, which makes this an exciting time to join us. This person will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, directly impact revenue, and play an important role in establishing Ellis Works throughout the Southeast.
