Design Ambassador, Trade
Company: Ligne Roset
Duration: Full-time
Date Posted: 08/18/26
Category: Sales & Marketing
Location: New York
Salary: 50-100k
Job Description

The role:
You will build and own the residential trade book for our East 57th Street showroom: interior designers, architects and their firms Manhattan North of 42nd Street, Queens, Westchester and Connecticut. This is a business development role first and a showroom role second. You will spend a significant part of each week outside the showroom, in designers’ offices, and you will be measured on the accounts you open, not only on what walks through the door.

What you will do
• Learn the Ligne Roset collection and the custom capabilities properly, including what the factories can and cannot do. Product knowledge is the basis of credibility • Call on residential interior design and architecture firms across your territory. Present the brand, the collection and the custom program in their offices.
• Bring designers into the showroom for presentations, lunch and learns, and new collection previews.
• Run projects end to end: concept, fabric and finish selection, quotation, order entry, production tracking, delivery coordination and follow-up after installation.
• Offer measuring, floor planning and furniture selection support where it wins the project.
• Represent the brand at trade shows and design industry events.
• Pass on opportunities that belong to the contract channel, and take referrals in return.
• Resolve service issues for your accounts rather than handing them off.
• Share responsibility for the showroom floor and its appearance with the rest of the team. This is shared, not your primary responsibility.
• Work within company policy and the business ethics code.

Job Requirements

What you bring:
• Four or more years selling in the luxury interiors or trade market, with a record you can demonstrate against a number.
• An existing relationship base in the New York design community, or clear evidence that you can build one quickly.
• Comfort with cold outreach. You will need to open doors, not only service them.
• Working knowledge of specification, quotation and order processes for made-to-order furniture.
• Fluency with CRM systems, and the discipline to keep it current.
• Interest and competence in interior design, floor planning, materials and color.
• Precise written and spoken communication. You will write to designers and to our factories.
• Organization under load. You will run many projects at different stages at the same time.
• Curiosity, and the willingness to ask a question early rather than guess.

What you own:
• An individual annual sales target will be allocated to you and reviewed monthly.
• Set target of new trade accounts opened per year, counted as a firm that has specified and ordered.
• A minimum of trade visits or presentations will be set per week, logged in Business Central.
• An accurate pipeline in Excel/Business Central, updated weekly.
• Margin discipline on your orders, within the discount authority granted to your level.
