Job Description

The Design Coordinator supports the design team and Principal in a collaborative studio environment, contributing to a project from conception to completion. This role assists with the creative and technical aspects of the design process, while managing the project coordination that supports its execution, including drawing production, FF&E procurement, vendor communication, and materials library organization.

Core responsibilities include:

• Involvement in all phases of the design process, including Pre-Design, Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development,
Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, FF&E, Procurement, and Installation.
• Support design team and Principal at client meetings and site visits, including note transcription, site measures, and photo
documentation.
• Assist with development of all working drawings, including floor plans and interior elevations.
• Assist with development of FF&E selections, including specifications of products and materials.
• Conduct product research, including collecting furniture literature, finishes, and materials samples.
• Provide direction to trades and outside consultants to develop and implement design intent.
• Assist design team in preparation of design presentations for both internal and external review.
• Collaborate closely with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to assist with project management.
• Manage project timelines with vendor production lead times to ensure timely installations.
• Manage all aspects of FF&E procurement, including requesting vendor quotes, developing client proposals, issuing purchase
orders, expediting, and receiving warehouse coordination.
• Assist with maintenance and organization of materials library.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving of daily packages.
• Assist with maintaining office cleanliness and organization.
• Schedule vendor presentations and lunches.

Hybrid role: three days in office, two remote weekly.

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience at a residential design firm with a focus on high-end residential interiors.
• Degree in interior design, architecture, or related field from an accredited school.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Studio Designer, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with SketchUp, Rhino, or
Enscape a plus.
• Strong knowledge of furnishings, finishes, materials, and design detailing.
• Experience with FF&E procurement processes.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced team environment and to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to effectively balance working independently and collaborating with the team.
• Ability to think critically with a pro-active approach to problem solving.
• Exceptional communication skills with pro-active follow-through.
• Highly organized and deadline-oriented with attention to detail.
• Outstanding graphic presentation skills.
• Curiosity to discover new and creative products, resources, and technologies to support thoughtful, forward-thinking design
solutions.
