We are a Brooklyn-based real estate development company seeking a full-time Interior Designer and Project Manager to oversee high-end, full-gut townhouse and brownstone renovations throughout Brooklyn.

This is a hands-on position for an experienced designer who can manage each project from initial design through final completion.

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Create complete interior design concepts for high-end townhouses and brownstones
Select flooring, tile, cabinetry, millwork, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, paint colors, and other finishes
Prepare detailed design specifications, finish schedules, and material-placement plans
Ensure materials and finishes are installed correctly according to approved design specifications
Coordinate with architects, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
Visit job sites regularly to monitor construction and installation progress
Manage samples, approvals, purchasing, deliveries, and material lead times
Resolve design and installation issues during construction
Maintain project schedules and ensure deadlines are met
Perform quality-control inspections and manage final punch lists
Provide ownership with regular progress reports, photographs, and updates
Manage multiple renovation projects simultaneously

Minimum of two years of professional experience working specifically on Brooklyn townhouse or brownstone renovations
Proven experience with high-end, full-gut residential renovation projects
Strong understanding of construction methods, project sequencing, materials, finishes, and installation requirements
Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and design specifications
Strong interior design, project-management, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to make confident design decisions and solve problems quickly
Ability to manage multiple active projects, vendors, and deadlines
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must drive and have reliable transportation for regular site visits
Must be available for full-time, in-person work in Brooklyn
Must provide a portfolio showing completed Brooklyn townhouse, brownstone, or comparable high-end residential projects

Experience with custom kitchens, bathrooms, millwork, built-ins, historic townhouse details, and Brooklyn-area vendors is strongly preferred.
