The Designer provides design, production, and coordination support through all phases of the design process, with a focus on design, procurement, and project management.
Manage multiple projects concurrently and support all phases of the design process from concept, design development, procurement, construction administration through installation
Contribute to the production of design presentations, interior schedules, specifications, construction documents, and drawings
Research and source design components relevant to established project parameters
Create and maintain project documents, including purchasing budgets, proposals, sourcing schedules, construction schedules, specification packages, and inventories
Generate proposals, invoices, and purchase orders using studio procurement standards, and manage the procurement process to meet budget projections and deadlines
Facilitate all phases of purchasing, request quotes and samples, and manage expediting
Coordinate with vendors on open orders, ensure details are correct, samples are provided, and deadlines are met
Assist in facilitating custom fabrication projects, managing vendor communication, and documenting design details
Vendor coordination, workroom visits, and ensure production progress matches design intent
Assist in coordinating project meetings, meeting agenda development, meeting notes, and communication with architects, consultants, contractors, millworkers, and vendors
Participate in site work, construction administration, and project installations as needed
Assist in tracking project budgets and schedules to ensure alignment with project and client expectations
Develop and draft architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, millwork details, and custom furniture drawings
Assist with scheduling installations and coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries as needed
Demonstrate familiarity with design references and sources
A degree in Interior Design or Architecture
A minimum of 6 years of professional interior design experience
Strong understanding of the process, phases, and language of design and architecture
Experience creating specification schedules, budget spreadsheets, purchase proposals, and purchase orders
Familiarity with methods, processes, and manufacturing for upholstery, drapery and soft goods, carpet qualities, and installation methods
Ability to produce and manage a full set of architectural design documents for construction
Ability to create custom furniture, lighting design, and ability to review shop drawings
Familiarity with showrooms, galleries, makers, and other trade resources, locally and abroad
Experience collaborating with other design professionals, subcontractors, and trades
On-site vendor and construction management as needed
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
Ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines
Software Proficiencies
Canva
Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
High proficiency in AutoCAD
SketchUp
Google Workspace
Microsoft Suite
Our studio schedule is Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm. We have a structured remote work schedule with weekly team and design meetings scheduled throughout the week. There is periodic travel for site visits and installs based on project needs.
