Carrier and Company Interiors seeks a detail oriented and highly technically skilled Senior Designer.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Partner with Principals throughout all phases of the design process, including programming, concept development, design development, and client presentations
• Lead multiple high-end residential projects from design through construction administration, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely execution
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, timelines, and client billing while proactively resolving project challenges
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and artisans to ensure seamless integration of design and construction
• Source and specify furniture, antiques, vintage pieces, lighting, textiles, finishes, fixtures, hardware, and accessories aligned with project vision and budget
• Develop furniture plans, FF&E specifications, schedules, and full procurement documentation
• Oversee custom furniture design and fabrication, coordinating with workrooms and artisans to ensure quality execution
• Manage decorative procurement from pricing and purchasing through delivery, installation, and project closeout
• Oversee installation planning and on-site coordination to ensure high-level execution and design intent is achieved
• Prepare client presentations and internal Principal review materials
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, consultants, and vendors regarding project status, design intent, and solutions
• Ensure all project documentation, schedules, budgets, and orders are accurate, organized, and consistently updated

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design
• 7–10 years of professional interior design experience, including at least 5 years in high-end residential design, including at the Senior Designer/Project Manager level
• Strong understanding of NYC furnishings and trade resources
• Experience managing luxury residential construction projects, including new construction and renovations, with regular site involvement
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Experience with Design Manager and Smartsheet preferred
• Strong graphic presentation, visual communication, and hand sketching skills; 3D modeling/rendering (Rhino or Revit) is a plus
• Exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail, discretion, and reliability
• Valid driver’s license with flexibility to travel to project sites across NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut, and New Jersey
• Fluent in English
