Rachel Laxer Interiors designs high-end residential and commercial spaces in the US, UK, and Europe. We are hiring a midweight interior designer with 2–5 years of experience to join our team. The studio is based in Scarsdale, with projects in NYC and combines remote with in-person time at our studio.
You’ll be involved in all aspects of our projects, from early concept to final installation, working closely with the founder and wider team. We’re looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple tasks across active design projects.
Responsibilities
Develop concepts, floorplans, and design presentations.
Produce detailed drawings and elevations in AutoCAD.
Create mood boards and visual documentation in InDesign and Photoshop.
Source fabrics, materials, and furnishings.
Prepare FF&E documentation, budgets, and procurement schedules.
Liaise with clients, professional services, suppliers, contractors, and trades.
Attend site visits and installations.
Maintain accurate project schedules and internal admin.
Requirements
3–5 years of professional interior design experience.
Proficient in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel. SketchUp and Rhino is a plus.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Able to manage workload independently and collaborate within a small team.
Studio Manager or Estimac experience is helpful (training will be provided).
