Rachel Laxer Interiors is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented designer to join our team immediately or to start early 2026. Studio is located in Scarsdale, NY. This is a hybrid work from home and in office role and flexible hours can be considered. You will work across residential projects in New York and London, collaborating directly with Rachel from concept to completion. This is a chance to contribute ideas, shape interiors of the highest calibre, and grow within a studio recognised for its thoughtful, art-led approach.
Responsibilities
Shape concepts, floorplans, and design presentations with the principal.
Produce detailed drawings and elevations in AutoCAD.
Create mood boards, FF&E schedules, and client presentations in InDesign and Photoshop.
Source and specify fabrics, furniture, and finishes for luxury interiors.
Manage budgets, procurement, and timelines with precision.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
Attend site visits, installations, and client presentations.
Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to studio organisation.
Requirements
3–5 years’ professional interior design experience, ideally in luxury residential.
Experience in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel (SketchUp a plus).
Excellent organisational skills and a strong eye for detail.
Confident communication, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently while collaborating in a small, close-knit team.
Experience with project management software (e.g. EstiMac or Studio Manager) is helpful, with training provided.
