Job Description

The Designer & Project Manager will work on key client accounts and projects and is responsible for the design and execution of residential, commercial, and hospitality projects by the company. This position will work directly with the principal and studio team to execute flawless projects from inception through completion.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design and execute clear coordinated interior design projects, from concept design through installation.
• Own project responsibilities include being the key point of contact for all clients, contractor and architect communication; creation and execution of design presentations and materials; invoice and budget management; creating and updating production documents; overseeing installation and project close out.
• Strong knowledge of the construction and design process from concept to installation.
• Proven ability to produce, review, and annotate construction plans and shop drawings.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Rhino or SketchUp, Google Workspace: Docs, Sheets, and Slides; knowledge of rendering software a plus.
• Experience and passion for drawing custom millwork, furniture, and lighting.
• Seek out new production partners, workrooms, and specialized artisans to create and collaborate on custom furniture and installations.
• Oversee vendors and conduct quality control and workroom visits when necessary.
• Lead on-site installations.
• Foster and create extensive industry contacts with workrooms, showrooms, and vendors.

Job Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• 2-4 years’ experience with high end residential and / or hospitality projects.
• Prior project management experience as client’s main point of contact.
• Possess a passion for art, architecture, and design.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills are essential.
• Highly dependable, responsible, and ethical.
• Detail oriented and extremely organized.
• Intellectual and creative curiosity, love of design, and commitment to learn.
• Ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability to see a task through to the end.
• Proactive, able to anticipate the next steps forward.
• A problem-solver and “do-er”; no task is too small.
• Ability to work and cooperate in a team environment, but also capable of working independently and keeping the ball moving forward.
• Impeccable etiquette, poised and polished with a professional mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with co-workers and business contacts in a professional manner.
• Ability to work in-person in New York City.

Salary is commensurate with experience. Candidate must be either a U.S. citizen or have a valid employment visa to work in the U.S. and be presently located in the New York City area.
