Job Title: Design Assistant
Location: Austin, Texas
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The Role
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Design Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the "glue" that keeps our projects moving forward. You’ll support the principal designers by managing the administrative backbone of our projects—from the initial storyboard phase to the final installation.
The ideal candidate is someone who finds satisfaction in a perfectly organized sample library and never lets a detail slip through the cracks in a finish schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Project Documentation: Assist in creating and updating design schedules, finish documents, and specifications.
Visual Organization: Organize and maintain storyboards and digital project folders to ensure the design vision is clear and accessible.
Data Entry: Manage procurement data, enter product specifications into our project management software, and track orders.
Library Management: Keep our physical sample library curated, labeled, and organized. Liaise with vendors to update fabric, wallpaper, and finish collections.
Logistics & Errands: Handle local pickups/deliveries, return samples to showrooms, and assist with on-site styling or installations as needed.
Highly Organized: You have a "systems" brain and love keeping things in order.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in [Insert Software, e.g., Ivy, Studio Designer, AutoCAD, or Excel] is a plus but not required.
Reliable Transportation: Since this role involves errands and showroom visits, a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required.
Communication: Strong written and verbal skills; you’ll be representing the firm when talking to vendors and showrooms.
Education: A degree or current enrollment in an Interior Design program is preferred but not required if you have relevant experience.
