We’re more than halfway through winter, and slowly but surely, design brands are looking to the warmer months ahead. From a surrealist-style armchair to a citrine-hued moire wallpaper, these debuts will help you spring forward into the next season.
The 2024 “RH Outdoor” sourcebook—the brand’s most extensive outdoor launch to date—has dropped, and it features 40 weather-safe designs from esteemed tastemakers across the globe. In addition to the tubular Bondi series by Australian designers Harrison and Nicholas Condos, introductions include the rope-wrapped Lindon collection by North Carolina–based Bernhardt Furniture CEO Alex Bernhardt Jr. and Nusa, a Mediterranean-style line bedecked in wicker backrests by Spanish designers Isabel Rojo and Victor Segarra.
Kristen Leigh’s Morningside series for Stout Textiles is pure painterly perfection. The collection includes nine upholstery patterns and eight wallcovering designs adorned with bright, spirited watercolor motifs, such as the billowing Scallop Floral fabric and the modern medallion-style Morocco wallpaper.
Nashville contemporary design showroom Wilder unveiled a shoppable exhibition titled “Études: Material.” The series features works from 24 international artists and designers using a medley of cutting-edge biomaterials—such as banana-based textiles and HempWood—including Randy Polumbo’s mycelium and hand-blown glass panels, and Amelia Briggs’s intestine-inspired mirrors fashioned from repurposed vintage clothing.
Peter Dunham Textiles introduced nine vivacious new colorways for three of its bestselling prints. Along with the spryly speckled Oona in bright Orange/Pink, additions include the striped, bandana-esque Fez in reddish brown Terracotta, and the botanical Jaali in Spring Green and Light Blue.
Kasthall’s Vichy collection is a love letter to gingham patterns. The launch reimagines the classic checkered motif as eight woven wool rugs in of-the-moment color combinations such as pink and blue (Raspberry Blue), orange and pink (Mango Peach), and brown and mint green (Pistachio).
Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca released a colorful collection of textiles called Coastal Desert Huacachina. Hand-woven by indigenous women artisans in Peru, the debut offers 11 exuberant designs inspired by the country’s landscape, including the rhythmic, bougainvillea-hued Jacaranda/Coral and Desert Rose, a vibrant plaid created in collaboration with Kendall Wilkinson.
Caroline Price’s Montespan collection for Vervain is brimming with sophisticated whimsy. An homage to Madame de Montespan—mistress of King Louis XIV of France and mother of seven of his children—the collaboration offers everything from two-tone pleated trims and Porcelain Trianon–inspired fabric to trippy moire and splattered-paint-style wallpapers.
Latin American design platform Omet showcased its latest collection at the Zona Maco art fair in Mexico City. The series spans 15 highly collectible pieces crafted in collaboration with an array of major international designers, including a geometric console and folding screen by Simon Hamui and a cowhide-covered metal lounge chair by Michel Rojkind.
Fornasetti and Poltrona Frau launched a limited-edition chair called Imagine Reality. The fantastical design reinterprets the latter’s iconic Vanity Fair armchair in surrealist illustrations from the former’s archives, which have been digitally cast onto leather upholstery using traditional silk-screen printing techniques.
Maison Ko’s collab with Olivia Snow Ceramics elevates an everyday object to an original piece of art. The collection, called Pebble, features hand-sculpted table lighters in two natural colorways—sleek black Yin and creamy Yang—with a built-in ashtray for added functionality.
