Empower the Designer

Darien Design Social
Darien, Connecticut | November 5–6
Design Social is popping up in Darien this month, connecting interior designers with the artisans and entrepreneurs behind boutique brands from around the country. Representatives from dozens of bespoke textile, wallcovering, lighting and furniture companies will be on hand to mingle with guests at Meadowlands at the Darien Community Association, and visitors are invited to attend a series of talks moderated by Business of Home editor in chief Kaitlin Petersen and Veranda executive editor Ellen McGauley. Chelsea Textiles Annual Sale

Architecture & Design Film Festival
Vancouver | November 5–9
This year’s festival—which celebrates the design industry through a selection of films, events and panels—will feature programming such as Building on the Edge, a short film about the University of Colorado’s Master of Architecture Design/Build class, which designed buildings in Antarctica; and Prickly Mountain and My Design/Build Life, about the town of Warren, Vermont, which houses the most architects and designers per capita in the country. The Vancouver outpost of the globe-trotting event (it made stops in New York and L.A. last month, and will alight in Toronto this month and Chicago and Mumbai in winter 2026) allows guests to engage with media that spotlights the design and architecture industries. Salon Art + Design
New York | November 6–10
The 14th annual Salon Art + Design fair will take place this month at the Park Avenue Armory. Produced by Sanford L. Smith + Associates, the show will feature nearly 50 vintage, modern and contemporary exhibitors alongside blue-chip 20th century art. Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas
Dallas | November 7–23
Since 2020, Kips Bay Dallas has brought together top interior designers to decorate unique spaces in a showhouse to raise money for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. This year’s home is the same as last year, in the city’s Turtle Creek neighborhood, and will feature the work of 25 design firms, including Avery Cox Design, Paloma Contreras Design, Mohon Interiors and Joshua Bernard Design. The annual event, an extension of the 50-year-old New York showcase, also benefits two local charities: Dwell With Dignity, which designs homes for families experiencing homelessness; and The Crystal Charity Ball, which supports children’s charities in Dallas County. Boutique Design New York is an annual trade fair and conference for the hospitality industry’s design segment. Taking place at the Javits Center, this event connects designers, architects and hoteliers with more than 600 exhibitors, including Arteriors, Janus et Cie, Dedon and Jaipur Living. Visitors will experience an array of products across the lodging, restaurant, wellness and spa realms, as well as industry presentations on subjects such as using AI in design, cultural narratives in hospitality, and storytelling through art and style. World Architecture Festival
Miami Beach | November 12–14
This annual festival is one of the largest live-judged architecture awards events in the world. During the three-day gathering, thousands of industry leaders and innovators from around the world will descend on Miami Beach (past host cities include Singapore, Lisbon, Berlin and Amsterdam) to celebrate and discover all things architecture and design through panels, seminars and awards ceremonies. The Ticking Tent
Bedford, New York | November 15
The fourth edition of this curated shopping event will welcome 30 vendors from across the country, including Casa Branca, Justin Westbrook Antiques and Sophie Williamson Design. After hosting pop-ups in venues throughout the tristate area, the biannual event has found its latest home at Ohho’s flagship store in Bedford, New York, and will also feature a Benjamin Moore espresso cart, as well as a Stark Blooms bouquet bar sponsored by Hunter Douglas. WestEdge Design Fair

The 10th iteration of this modern design fair offers guests a chance to shop from over 150 home furnishings and design brands, including Buster + Punch, Cambria and Eskayel—and to meet the designers behind the products. Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse
Atlanta | November 20–December 14
Hosted by Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine, Atlanta’s 17th annual holiday showhouse is designed by a group of the region’s top designers. This year’s talent lineup includes Patricia McLean, Valerie Garrett and Jessica Whitley, each of whom will design a space in a 7,500-square-foot contemporary home designed by architect Linda MacArthur.
