Job Description

We are a trade-focused, custom rug showroom started in 2011, based in New York City, partnering closely with interior designers on highly tailored hospitality and residential projects. We are seeking a Business Development & Brand Lead to help drive growth, shape our brand, and play a central role in the evolution of the business. This is a full-time, in-person role based in our new SoHo-area showroom.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys both the sales side, including presenting, and building relationships, and the creative, day-to-day energy of a growing showroom. We’re looking for someone entrepreneurial who would enjoy the opportunity to shape both the brand and business strategy and help identify a clear market position. Over time, this position is intended to evolve, with the potential to build equity in the company and become a partner.
You will work very closely with the founder and creative director, who has 20+ years of industry experience.
It’s important that you are down-to-earth, collaborative, and value a positive, easy working dynamic; fit and chemistry matter here just as much as experience.

This role is a strong fit for someone who has spent time in the design world, maybe at a design firm, in showroom sales, or as a product rep, and has discovered that their real strength is in building relationships and creating opportunities, but maybe they’ve hit a wall or are looking for more. A good candidate would be energetic and creative, someone who wants to love their job and take it seriously, and can also plan fun events and likes an impromptu cocktail party on a Thursday afternoon. Someone who wants to work collaboratively, share thoughts on showroom displays, style a photoshoot, or even jump in with opinions on developing new collections or collaborations.

Job Requirements

Core Areas of Responsibility
Business Development
• Actively develop new business through outreach, networking, and relationship-building
• Comfortably lead showroom appointments, presentations, and client meetings when needed
• Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and deepen client engagement

Branding & Marketing
• Define and oversee the development and evolution of the brand identity and positioning; clarify brand voice, define a clear point of view, create concise brand statement and messaging guide
• Organize marketing assets and create missing essentials; centralizing project and product photography, product tear sheets, press mentions, branded assets
• Build and execute a marketing strategy; define goals, marketing channels, content pillars, partnerships
• Create sales and presentation materials, client-facing visuals and branded materials
• Help plan and execute showroom events and brand collaborations

Operations & Showroom Leadership
• Help oversee administrative staff and assist with building efficient systems and workflows
• Contribute to showroom merchandising, layout, and overall aesthetic

Qualifications & Experience
• 5-8+ years of experience in business development, sales or marketing within the design industry or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Strong sales instincts and proven ability to generate new business and grow relationships
• Experience with branding, marketing, or creative direction
• Experience in showroom environments or small business operations preferred

Skills & Traits
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A design perspective and interest in storytelling through product and space
• Familiarity with Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, Squarespace or other similar design tools
• Strong sense of humor, down-to-earth attitude and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
• Highly motivated, ideas-driven, and eager to contribute beyond a defined job description
