Insider Discussions
Who wouldn’t want to discuss travels with Hearst Design Group editorial director Newell Turner and designer Katie Ridder, or the impact of California cool on global design with Robb Report’s Arianne Nardo, architect Pamela Babey, designer Thomas Hamel and gallerists Adam Blackman and David Cruz?

WESTWEEK offers you your chance, starting with Wednesday keynotes “A Global View” (March 21, from 10 to 11 a.m.), with Turner and Ridder, and “Haute Bohemians” (3 to 4 p.m.), which hosts New York Times Craft columnist Deborah Needleman with photographer and Cabana magazine editor Miguel Flores-Vianna.

On Thursday, the morning keynote is “Something in the Air: The California Effect on Global Design & Style,” (March 22, from 10 to 11 a.m.) with Nardo and friends, and in the afternoon it’s “Global Heritage: Weaving Decorative History Into Modern-Day Masterpieces,” with Traditional Home’s Krissa Rossbund, Antiques Diva Toma Clark Haines and designers Lara Fishman and Gary Gibson. RSVPs are required for all, so be sure to sign up.

Major Drama
The Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre will deliver a one-night-only, dance performance of Once in a Whale at the PDC. Specially choreographed to highlight the design center’s noted architecture—the Center Blue lobby was designed by César Pelli in 1975—the show focuses on “the importance of human bonds and global climate concerns.” Catch it Friday, March 23, at 8:30 p.m., and buy your tickets online.

Bold-Faced Names
In addition to the industry stalwarts named above, Natasha Baradaran, Joan Behnke, Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, Nina Campbell, Timothy Corrigan, Sue Firestone, Bob Hale, Ryan Jackson, Grant Kirkpatrick, Thomas Pheasant, David Phoenix, Ron Radziner, Windsor Smith and Tom Stringer are among the notable designers and insiders making special appearances throughout the two-day event.

New Showrooms
Loro Piana Interiors (Suite B655), Studio Van den Akker (Suite B355), George Smith (Suite B307), and Kravet (Suite B690)—with its recently relocated showroom that now brings together Kravet, Lee Jofa, and Brunschwig & Fils—are all swinging open their doors in new spaces.
