Samuel & Sons is thrilled to unveil Velaré, a collection that marks a significant evolution in the art of passementerie with an entirely new category: the framed appliqué border. Reimagining luxurious velvet as a sculptural expression of ornament, Velaré renders each pattern through an interplay of intricate embroidery, appliquéd cording, meticulous cutwork and sculpted velvet. The framed appliqués feature intentionally articulated corners with the refinement of custom mitering while allowing each pattern to flow seamlessly around the frame. Rooted in classical architecture and the decorative arts of the 18th century, Velaré brings a sculptural vocabulary to a new architecture of ornament.
