Media moves at Sandow and Apartment Therapy, change at the top for Hooker Furnishings, and more

From leadership executives to design firm principals, read on for BOH’s monthly roundup of arrivals and departures in design, media and more.

To the Trade
Sherrill Furniture Brands has hired Kristin Hawkins as its new senior director of marketing. Hawkins previously was the senior director of PR at Hooker Furnishings.

WizCommerce, the B2B e-commerce platform for furniture and decor, hired Cheryl Dobbins Hege as its senior director of marketing and engagement. Hege joins from trade show parent company Andmore, where she was senior marketing manager.

Retail & Manufacturing
Jonathan Adler has a new president: Mary Beth Sheridan, who previously held CMO roles at Quid, The Children’s Place and Anthropologie. The company also welcomed Taylor Jacobs as its new senior manager of PR and social media. Jacobs arrives from PR firm ICR, where she worked for nearly five years, most recently as an account supervisor.

New Jersey–based Samuelson Furniture appointed Michael Chalfin as its new president. Chalfin succeeds his father, Lawrence Chalfin, who remains the company’s CEO and chairman. Before his recent elevation, Michael had served as vice president since 2005.

Furniture brand Natuzzi welcomed David Workman as chief commercial officer for its North American wholesale division. Workman had been executive vice president of sales, marketing and merchandising at American Leather, where he started as VP of sales in 2019.

Virginia-based Hooker Furnishings announced a flurry of leadership appointments. Misty Ellis joins the company from Lee Industries as the new director of design for custom upholstery, and Christy Almond was hired as vice president of Collective Living after serving as vice president of customer solutions at Swavelle Group. Hooker also promoted Emily Boyst from senior director of marketing partnerships to vice president of experiential retail and licensing, and Kathryn Behmer from product merchandising manager to director of merchandising for occasional and accents.

Samson Marketing has appointed Brad Miller as its vice president of international sales, which will see him represent Baker-McGuire, Universal Furniture and Legacy Classic Modern. Miller was previously the international VP of sales at Hooker Furnishings.

Rug and carpet brand Nourison Home has appointed Feryal Rehman as vice president of marketing. Rehman brings nine years of experience from her work at Groupe SEB, where she was marketing director for All-Clad and T-Fal cookware, and her nearly six years as a brand manager for Procter & Gamble before that.

North Carolina–based furniture brand Magnussen Home named Fred Schubert vice president of product and development. Schubert has freelanced for the brand since 2006 while running his eponymous product development company, and will now shift gears to focus fully on products for Magnussen.

Home accent furnishings brand StyleCraft Home Collection hired Dann Foley as the new creative director for its StyleCraft and Harp & Finial brands. Foley brings experience as an interior and product designer—he was formerly principal at the Palm Springs–based firm Foley & Stinnette, and has licensed collections with StyleCraft, Phillips Collection and more.

Design & Architecture
Global architecture firm MBH Architects announced its new leadership team: CEO Jason Dries-Daffner and president Ryan McNulty. Dries-Daffner joined the firm in 2022 as chief operating officer; McNulty has been at the firm for 15 years, and was appointed principal in 2019.

New York and Berkeley, California–based Landed Interiors & Homes has promoted Heather Menegat to principal designer. Menegat came on board in 2021, working her way up from designer to senior interior designer and then studio director of the West Coast office.

Tracy Morris Design, the McLean, Virginia–based firm, made three new additions to its team. Danielle Steele is a new associate designer, arriving from Mark-Woods Construction, where she was lead designer; Beth Kanfer is now director of operations after a stint at Nordstrom in Seattle; and Kate Key is the new installation team manager after working with the firm as an organizing specialist.

Los Angeles firm Tim Barber Architects announced the elevation of Ari Engelman and Katie Peterson-Hesketh to principal architect. The two joined the firm in 2015 and 2012, respectively.

Global architecture firm HKS named Tyler Goss its chief data and digital officer. Goss was previously the vice president and global digital lead for water at the civil engineering company Aecom.

Media & PR
Sandow Design Group—the architecture and design media and services branch of Sandow that includes brands like Luxe and Design Milk—promoted Bobby Bonett to president. Bonett started at the company in 2020 and was previously chief marketing and revenue officer.

Apartment Therapy Media announced a flurry of promotions. Alison Goldman has been named the new editor in chief of Cubby and Dorm Therapy, while continuing her position as special projects director. Faith Durand, founding editor of The Kitchn and Cubby, has been promoted from senior vice president of content to senior VP of content operations, SEO and audience analytics. Rebecca Longshore is now the SVP of creative content and audience engagement after less than two years as the SVP of audience growth.

Asad Syrkett, the former editor in chief of Elle Decor, is the new head of editorial content for Architectural Digest Italia, following his stint as guest editor at the publication earlier this year.

Head & Hand PR has welcomed Brody Gaultney as its new division director for brand and lifestyle. Gaultney joins from communications firm A Design Partnership, where he was associate account director.

The Consultancy PR has hired Olivia Hyde as an account director. Before this, Hyde was account supervisor for tech, innovation and design at Factory PR. The firm also welcomed Sarah Gottschalk as an account manager, joining from her previous post as a senior account executive at Factory PR.

Industry Organizations
The New School appointed six new members to its board of trustees: Gregory Bernstein, co-founder and CEO of The New Industrial Corporation; hall of fame designer Jamie Drake; and Caitlin McKoy, a New York–based educator and advisor. Rhea Alexander, associate professor of strategic design and management at Parsons School of Design, is a new faculty trustee. The university also appointed two student trustees: Quinn Fertig, a fashion design undergrad at Parsons; and Imre Szijarto, a student in the doctorate program at The New School for Social Research.

The National Kitchen & Bath Association announced the leadership for its 2026 board of directors. Kerrie Kelly, CEO and creative director of Kerrie Kelly Studio, was elected chair; Scott Edmunds, senior vice president of marketing at Kohler, was elected vice chair; and returning board member Michael Gross, Whirlpool’s senior vice president of product marketing and merchandising, will take on the position of secretary/treasurer. The board also welcomed two new members: Alena Capra, owner of Alena Capra Designs; and Vijay Shankar, executive chairman of Coleto Brands.
