Flos has a new CEO, Herman Miller brings on new creative directors, and more

From the C-suite to the marketing department, read on for BOH’s monthly roundup of arrivals and departures in design, manufacturing, media and more.

Retail & Manufacturing
Italian lighting brand Flos promoted Pablo Illueca to CEO. He joined the company in 2012 and previously served as CEO of the company’s U.S. operation, and as ESG ambassador, he contributed to the brand’s sustainability initiatives.

Montreal-based extendable table company Transformer Table welcomed Christopher Wantlin as its new CEO. Wantlin is the co-founder and managing director of holding company Eight Pillars and was previously the chief retail officer at Ashley Global Retail.

Herman Miller has appointed Kim Colin and Sam Hecht as the Michigan-based furniture company’s global creative directors. Colin and Hecht co-founded the design studio Industrial Facility in 2002 and have also served as creative directors for Muji Japan and Italian furniture brand Mattiazzi.

New Jersey–based Cabinetry brand Fabuwood hired Scott Davies as its vice president of marketing. Davies joins from Samsung, where he was the senior director of marketing for Dacor luxury appliances and Samsung Builder.

North Carolina rug brand Jaipur Living hired James Ashley as senior vice president of sales. Ashley previously held executive sales positions at furniture company Gabriella White and lighting brand Eurofase.

Theodore Alexander has welcomed back Sydney Wells Martin, who served as the North Carolina–based brand’s director of marketing from 2018 to 2022. Wells returns after four years at Sherrill Furniture Brands, where she was most recently vice president of marketing, the title she will hold in her new position.

Massachusetts bedding brand Matouk hired Ellie Berlin Stover as its new senior vice president and head of brand. Stover joins from Tory Burch, where she spent nearly two decades, most recently as vice president of global integrated marketing.

Toronto-based furniture brand Sunpan appointed Youval Ronen director of client relations. Ronen previously served as chief operating officer of Nuevo Living, which he co-founded in 1990.

Florida lighting brand Fine Art Handcrafted Lighting welcomed Rob Garcia as national sales director. Garcia was the principal of Mar Lighting, which he co-founded in 2023, prior to which he was the director of sales at Hudson Valley Lighting Group.

To the Trade
Art and design gallery The Future Perfect, which operates showroom locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami and New York, promoted Daniela Santos Brown to president. Santos Brown, who is based in Manhattan, has been with the company since 2023, most recently serving as head of sales.

Freeman’s, the Philadelphia auction house, welcomed Muys Snijders as CEO. Snijders was previously senior vice president and head of art services at Private Client Select (formerly AIG Private Client Group).

Design & Architecture
Maryland-based design firm Ayers Saint Gross named Marina Carroll principal and interdisciplinary practice lead, a newly created role. Carroll recently served as the national leader of the education sector at the Australian firm Architectus.

Global architecture and design firm HLW appointed Christopher Townsend and Erin Vasold co–studio directors of its New Jersey office. Both joined the firm in 2018, with Townsend recently serving as associate principal and Vasold as senior associate and senior project manager.

Media & PR
Manhattan PR firm Agency Esta hired Jackie Godsey as senior vice president. Godsey was previously at McGraw PR for nearly a decade, most recently serving as vice president.

McGraw PR announced the promotion of Robyn Smith to account manager. Smith joined the firm in 2021 and was most recently a senior account executive. The company also hired Emilia Prenty and Sarah Visconti as account executives. Prenty was previously an account coordinator at Head & Hand PR, and Visconti was an assistant account executive at Lippe Taylor.

Industry Organizations
The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS appointed architect and designer Lauren Rottet and design executive Lee Cannon to its national board of trustees. Rottet founded Rottet Studio in 2008, and Cannon is the vice president of workplace and design at FCi Furniture Consultants.

Italian art and design museum Triennale Milano announced Vincenzo Trione is its new board president. Trione is a professor of art and media and history of contemporary art at the IULM University in Milan. For the past 10 years, he has been coordinator of the PhD degree in visual and media studies, and has been director of that department since 2023. The board also elected Salone del Mobile.Milano president Maria Porro to vice president and Carla Morogallo to director general, a position she has held since 2022.
