Showroom Spotlight
Verellen’s new Dallas showroom in the city’s design district is intended to feel like a home away from home. The High Point, North Carolina–based furniture company with Belgian roots recently unveiled its latest outpost—its third, joining the ones in High Point and New York. “Comfort and hospitality are paramount in our design choices and elements and pieces that we pick,” says Kathryn Richardson, Verellen’s vice president of sales and strategic engagement. “The brand really speaks to being or feeling like you’re part of the family, and hosting and making people feel at home is really integral to our core message.”
The company accomplished that inviting feeling through nooks that create natural moments of pause within the airy space, which boasts high ceilings and large windows that usher in light from all angles. “You would think [the nooks] are not so private, but feel extremely cozy, and because you have the natural light, I feel like a cat sitting on a sofa just having a nice little warm moment,” says Richardson. The use of natural materials is paramount in the brand’s 100 percent made-in–North Carolina furniture designs, which are showcased throughout a space featuring wide plank oak flooring and a fluted-walnut bar in the back, where guests can grab coffee, Belgian chocolate and aperitifs. “Each little area is a surprise unto itself,” she adds.
The collections on display are a mix of old and new: classic pieces like the brand’s Hudson chairs and Thibaut sofa, alongside new additions like a darker finish called Loam, which is set to be formally introduced in April at High Point Market, and Margot, a sofa with a classic English rolled arm.

Verellen chose Dallas as its new destination because it sensed that the city was about to boom and because it already has a dedicated customer base there. “We hope that we’re on the forefront of something big, [and we know] that we’ve already seen a really strong reaction to our collection from customers in that region who keep asking us, ‘Where can we go to see more?’” The location also allows customers from Western parts of the country, who may find North Carolina and New York too far to travel, to access a space where they can experience the furniture in person.
“For us, the idea is to both expand our own community in the way that we see Verellen as a brand, but also to be a resource to the design community in each area that we are looking to expand into,” says Richardson. “While we still feel very strongly about our brick-and-mortar trade partners, we also want to make sure that we are connecting with every single person—in any way that we can—who’s interested in seeing what we do and how we do it.” 150 Glass St., Suite 100, Dallas
