We’re days away from Milan Design Week, but you don’t have to wait another minute to see these inspired new collections. From cement dining tables to pasta-shaped hardware, here are some of our favorite looks from the latest round of releases.
Thibaut teamed up with Belgian furniture brand Vincent Sheppard on two indoor furniture collections. Available in five versatile shades, the Butterfly series offers dining chairs and lounge chairs with painted paper-loomed frames and customizable seat cushions upholstered in your choice of Thibaut fabrics. The bases of the Rondo line’s glass-topped side tables also feature the signature paper-loom weave.
Joon Loloi drew inspiration from Charleston, South Carolina’s historic architecture for its latest collection. Brimming with traditional motifs and sun-drenched hues, standouts from the sweeping 303-piece launch includes the scalloped Kingston accent table; the checkered Hampton rug; and the golden yellow, velvet-upholstered Rosamund sofa, a skirted stunner with an undulating backrest.
London-based Gallery Fumi’s “Materials of Joy” is on display at New York’s Galerie56. The group exhibition (the first show of Fumi’s two-part, three-month residency) runs through May 23, and spotlights 51 handcrafted works from 15 highly collectible artists and designers, including a gold leaf–finished Max Lamb chair; a quartzite-inlaid cabinet by Francesco Perini; and a sculptural bronze coffee table cast by Voukenas Petrides using ancient lost-wax techniques.
Lo & Co’s collab with Tali Roth is a love letter to pasta. The collection, called Al Dente, introduces four savory hardware families in four distinct finishes, including the sinuously pinched Lucia pulls, the gnocchi-like Olive knobs, the orecchiette-esque Orietta knobs, and the stelline-shaped Star knobs.
Armadillo rolled out Linea, its first line of patterned rugs composed of all-natural fibers. Among the noteworthy newcomers are the flat-weave linen Latitude; the hand-spun wool Sonata; and Allegra, a Persian-knotted beauty clad in an abstract medallion motif.
Bunny Williams Home dropped 54 fresh designs for spring. In addition to the pale blue Aldo chest and the hand-carved Cordoba mirror, the antique-inspired intros range from the storage-savvy Marcel coffee table to the Alexander console, an architectural number with Doric column–style legs and dentil molding.
Maiden Home added five material-driven designs to its repertoire of heirloom-quality furniture. The Fragment collection offers three Italian artisan–made cement styles: a dining, console and coffee table. The two other new handcrafted pieces are the Petra bed, which features a low-lying platform base, and the Jude bed, a solid-wood wonder with a handwoven headboard.
Studio McGee introduced the Primrose Park collection into its ongoing collaboration with Ann Sacks. The line comprises five hand-painted terra cotta tiles in multiple motifs: the block print–inspired Auden, the botanical Berkley, the delft-style Elliot, the ticking-striped Rothwell, and a banded finishing trim named Fitzroy.
British artist Dawn Bendick designed her first line of rugs, a collaboration with FJ Hakimian. Currently on display alongside some of her kiln-dried glass works at the Charles Burnand Gallery in London, the collection is handwoven from wool and silk and includes the monolithic Boulder, the jagged Gradated Pavers, the wavy Pond and the color-blocked Rock Stack.
Good news! Room & Board now offers its Hensley collection in reclaimed elm wood. The launch features five midcentury-style case goods—a media cabinet, a storage cabinet, a dresser, an armoire and a nightstand—constructed with salvaged timber from demolished homes and buildings.
