Palm Beach Cottages & Gardens relaunches with a new editor, a flurry of new hires at Matouk, and more

From new C-suite promotions to fresh faces in the editorial departments at national publications, read on for BOH’s monthly roundup of arrivals and departures in design, manufacturing, media and more.

Design & Architecture
Gensler, the global architecture and design firm, announced the addition of three new senior designers to its health care practice: Shary Adams joined the firm’s Toronto office as an area leader; Ray Bai assumed the role of community leader in the Shanghai office; and Alanna Carter is now the regional leader in the Houston office.

Traci Weems was promoted to principal at Bethesda, Maryland–based architecture firm GTM Architects. Weems has been with the company for the past 19 years.

Media & PR
Lucy Bamman is the new style editor at large for House Beautiful, where she will work on both print and digital home and style content. Bamman was previously the market editor for the title as well as for Veranda, Elle Decor and Milieu.

Palm Beach Cottages & Gardens appointed Harriet Mays Powell as the new editor, marking the magazine’s relaunch by C&G Media Group after a 16-year hiatus. Powell has a decadeslong career in media, previously serving as fashion director at New York and most recently as director of style and luxury at Global Miami.

The Consultancy PR has announced three promotions. Samantha Devine, who was previously a managing director, is now the vice president and head of growth and brand strategy. Victoria McDougal and Berkley Cohn were promoted from senior account manager to associate account director.

PR firm UpSpring hired Christiana Forsberg as a senior communications director. Forsberg comes from H2 Public Relations, where she was the director of editorial and new business.

To the Trade
Linen company Matouk welcomes four new people to its team. Zahia Ghossaini is the new vice president of e-commerce, and she brings experience from her former e-commerce role at fashion brand Zadig & Voltaire; Dennis Sarlo joins as director of content, having previously held the same position at West Elm; the new showroom director is Richard Blanchette, who comes from Tiffany & Co., where he was director of home and accessories at the landmark; and Susan Wallace is the new store director, most recently serving as manager of lifestyle and home at Tiffany & Co.

Global Views, the wholesale home decor company, announced the appointment of Tristan Butterfield as vice president of design and merchandising. Trained in furniture design at the Royal College of Art in London, Butterfield has held the positions of chief creative officer for furniture brands Baker and McGuire as well as design director for fabric company Zoffany.

Retail & Manufacturing
Michigan-based hardware company Belwith Keeler Décor Solutions has appointed Jason Chau as president. Chau spent the last 20 years at the hardware company Emtek Products, where he served as president starting in 2019.

Pom Pom at Home, the Los Angeles–based luxury bedding and textile brand, has promoted Samuel Leiaghat to CEO. Leiaghat has been with the company since 2007 and most recently served as COO. He is replacing his mother, Belgian-born designer and company founder Hilde Leiaghat, who will stay on as creative director.

Cabinetworks Group, one of the country’s largest cabinetmaking companies, appointed Todd Antonelli as its first chief revenue officer. Antonelli was previously the senior vice president of window and door manufacturer Marvin.

Lifestyle brand Armen Living welcomes Randy Graboski as its new key account executive. Graboski has over 50 years of management experience, most recently at Chintaly Furniture, where he was vice president of sales and marketing.

New Jersey–based furniture, carpet, leather and fabric brand Jamie Stern announced several new hires. Ginger Salmon joins as a sales representative covering North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee; Allison Allen joins the sales team covering the Pacific Northwest territory; and at the New Jersey headquarters, Jamie Berry was named project engineer for furniture and Beth McArdle Sturdivant is the new furniture project manager.

Industry Organizations
The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) has announced that Tom Polucci, HOK’s senior principal and firm-wide director of interiors, is the new chairman of the board. Polucci has been with the organization since 2019 and succeeds Cindy Allen, the editor in chief of Interior Design, who stepped down as chair last year and now serves as chair emeritus alongside David Rockwell of Rockwell Group.
