Birdy Design is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our Tulsa studio. This is a highly creative, hands-on role for a design professional who is equally strong in the creative and technical sides of interior design and is comfortable independently developing projects with the guidance and creative direction of the principal owner.
Our work spans highly customized luxury residential and boutique commercial interiors. The ideal candidate has a refined design perspective and the ability to develop a space from initial concept through documentation, sourcing, procurement and final installation.
A critical component of this position is technical proficiency. The designer must be confident taking accurate field measurements and translating them into detailed 2D floor plans, elevations, and cross sections. The role also requires the ability to create photorealistic 3D visualizations, material overlays and client walkthroughs using Chief Architect or comparable professional design software.
The designer will develop conceptual designs and presentation storyboards; specify furnishings, fabrics, finishes, lighting, accessories and architectural materials; and produce detailed design information for lighting plans, cabinetry elevations and styles, stone fabrication, ceiling details and material transitions.
We are looking for someone who understands luxury product and sourcing beyond mainstream retail—someone comfortable working with high-end, to-the-trade, bespoke and artisan furnishings, lighting, textiles and materials to create interiors that feel individual and collected.
The designer will also collaborate with builders, vendors, fabricators and trades and manage product procurement from sourcing through final delivery.

The ideal candidate will have documented professional interior design industry experience, preferably with a strong background in luxury residential and/or boutique commercial interiors. Candidates must demonstrate a refined design eye as well as strong technical proficiency, including the ability to independently conduct accurate field measurements and translate them into precise 2D floor plans, elevations and cross sections. Proficiency in Chief Architect or comparable professional design software is required, along with experience producing photorealistic 3D renderings, material overlays and client walkthroughs. Candidates should have working knowledge of architectural and interior detailing, including lighting plans, cabinetry elevations, cabinet style and finish specifications, stone fabrication details, ceiling treatments and material transitions. The role requires experience developing conceptual designs and sophisticated client presentations; specifying furniture, fabrics, finishes, lighting, accessories and architectural materials; and sourcing high-end, to-the-trade, bespoke and artisan product beyond mainstream retail sources. Experience managing procurement from initial sourcing and specification through ordering, tracking and final delivery is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented and capable of independently designing and developing spaces with the guidance of the principal owner.
