November’s can’t-miss design events

From art installations to hospitality exhibitions, designers will have plenty of opportunities to gear up for the holiday season. Read on for BOH’s monthly calendar highlights, including conferences, trade shows and design discussions.

Nashville Design Week
Nashville, Tennessee | October 31–November 4
Nashville Design Week celebrates its five-year anniversary with a week of panel discussions, workshops, presentations and networking events across the city. The fair will focus on topics like designing with color, building design communities and the rise of nature-oriented spaces. For more information, click here.

Greenbuild 2022
San Francisco | November 1–3
The U.S. Green Building Council celebrates the 20th anniversary of Greenbuild, the largest event for green-building professionals worldwide, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Discussions will address solutions to improve sustainability and the quality of life in buildings, featuring keynote speakers like two-time Academy Award–winning actress Jane Fonda and senior managing director and global head of environmental, social and governance at Blackstone Jean Rogers. Workshops and education sessions throughout the conference cover everything from how to make eco-friendly policy changes at the state and local level to how the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is changing its rating system. Dine by Design
New York | November 2–13
Apartment Therapy is partnering with Pinterest to showcase shoppable holiday tablescapes curated by designers including Rayman Boozer and Noz Nozawa. Located at the House of Showfields in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the installation features two-person holiday place settings of dinnerware, cutlery and glasses from each designer. The public is invited to view the installation, explore products on the designer’s Pinterest board and shop through unique QR codes. For more information, click here.

Salon Art + Design
New York | November 10–14
The 11th annual Salon Art + Design fair will take place over a long weekend at the Park Avenue Armory. Produced by Sanford L. Smith + Associates, the show will feature 51 vintage, modern and contemporary exhibitors, including Galerie Chastel-Maréchal, Maison Gerard and special partner and interior designer Amy Lau, whose work will be showcased at the fair entrance. An international mix of exhibitors will return this year, including Egyptian gallery Le Lab, which will show cutting-edge contemporary Middle-Eastern design. For more information, click here.

Boutique Design New York
New York | November 13–14
BDNY returns to the Javits Center this fall to showcase a mix of more than 550 hospitality exhibitions and unveil its new concept “Designed Spaces,” featuring products from exhibitors and sponsors, panel discussions and conversation among hospitality leaders. Programming will cover sustainability in hospitality, women leadership in the industry and designing for virtual landscapes, with speakers including Aliya Khan, vice president of global design strategies at Marriott International; and Fred Brandstrader, vice president of construction and capital expenditures at Hyatt. Following the last day of programming, BDNY will host its annual Gold Key Awards, where winners in 24 project categories will be announced. For more information, click here.

Business of Home and Brown Jordan Event
New York | November 14
Business of Home editor in chief Kaitlin Petersen and market editor Caroline Biggs host the grand opening of Brown Jordan’s new showroom in the New York Design Center, an occasion that doubles as a fitting opportunity for the industry to mingle and ring in the holiday season.

Wine Country Design Social
Sonoma, California | November 16
The Design Social Pop-Up, created in 2019 to connect interior designers with boutique trade brands, will host an event in Sonoma, California. Creatives can shop industry brands and will have an opportunity to hear from Business of Home’s editor in chief Kaitlin Petersen, Veranda’s editor in chief Steele Marcoux, and designer and writer David Netto. 14th Annual Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Home for the Holidays Showhouse
Atlanta | November 17–December 11
Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles presents the 14th annual Home for the Holidays Showhouse, featuring designers Tavia Forbes and Monet Masters, Evan Millard, Lauren Davenport and more. The 10,505-square-foot stucco English estate—constructed by local firms Harrison Design and KBD Development & Construction—includes five bedrooms, six full baths and three half baths, along with a porte cochere, motor court, loggia and a fireside covered porch.
