Plaster & Patina is seeking a Senior Designer to lead high-end residential projects from concept through installation. We're a fast-paced, growing studio, and we're looking for someone who thrives on managing multiple projects while never losing sight of the details. We are also seeking someone who is. passionate about historic homes, period homes and interior architecture with a thorough understanding and love for woodwork. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience and an exceptional eye for proportion, material, and detail - we would ideally love someone who has a working understanding of sketchup and modeling, although for the right candidate we will overlook this. We are looking for someone who can not only design something incredibly detailed, but who execute on it in auto cad just as well and very precisely. Someone who has such a solid understanding of the basics of design that they are not afraid to break the rules and add a bit of quirk to a project.
The Senior Designer will collaborate closely with the Principal and multiple Junior Designers, taking full ownership of a project from start to finish and commanding a team. We're looking for a highly developed eye, strong creative instincts, and a design sensibility that aligns with our unique perspective and aesthetic. A true love for woodwork and old home details are a must.
7+ years in high-end residential interior design or interior architecture
Portfolio of built work you led from concept through installation
At least 2 solid past referrals from design firms we can call
Advanced AutoCAD; clean, unsupervised construction documentation
Proficient in SketchUp, Asana, Google Suite, and Studio Designer
Deep knowledge of residential construction, millwork, and detailing
Experience coordinating architects, builders, and vendors on custom work
Able to manage multiple projects without losing the details
Applicant must live no further than 30 minutes from Pasadena and be able to come to work daily
