Job Description

ROOM, a luxury home furnishings / lighting showroom with locations in Tribeca and Greenwich, CT, is currently seeking a high-energy, creative and outgoing dynamo to be our new Sales Associate. The position entails working with a group of dedicated design lovers in a collaborative setting, working with customers new and old to develop new business and create connections within the design world. We’re looking for someone who truly loves being a salesperson - conveying knowledge and helpfulness, and then closing the deal . . .someone who loves design – both the front end in working with customers and establishing relationships – as well as the back end, in meticulously creating proposals and following up in a systematic manner with our designer clientele.

In a nutshell, this person will:
* Work in a hybrid setting, 2-3 days each week from home, and 2-3 days each week in one of our two showrooms. (**NOTE: Although the job listing says the location is in NYC, the person could just as easily be based out of our Greenwich showroom.)
* Respond to client requests, both in person and via email / phone, providing excellent product knowledge and superior customer service along the way.
* Reach out to clients on social media, and individually create sales presentations for a number of designers.
* Help to maintain each showroom.
* Help to maintain material libraries.
* Reflect our corporate desire to make each client interaction a thoroughly happy one from start to finish!

Job Requirements

This job requires:
* A minimum of 2 years sales experience in luxury home furnishings or lighting.
* Experience with custom designs.
* Excellent written communication, an outgoing and upbeat personality, and a true desire to get things right!
* An interest in contributing new ideas.
* A desire to work in an intimate, non corporate setting.
* A love of all things design!
* A sense of humor.
* Experience with a drawing program, as well as Photoshop, Canva and graphic design experience is helpful, though not required.

Compensation includes generous base salary (commensurate with experience), commission and group bonus, 401K, health / dental / vision insurance, 3 weeks paid vacation and generous holiday closures.
