Your glimpse at LA’s ‘funnest’ design shop

MiMASS Fun Shop, curated by Mary Ta, founder of Minotti LA and co-founder of MASS Beverly, is a newly debuting pop-up featuring a collection of objects culled from Ta's extensive travels. The installation-based shop currently features a "Winter Wonderland" theme, outfitted with fir trees, lacquer bunny rabbits, crystal and glass accessories, furry rugs, upholstered pieces and throws.

Some of the spotlighted brands? Ivano Redaelli, Nudeglass, Atelier Biagetti, Atelier Swarovski, Bitossi, Pelle, Promemoria, Tina Frey and Vibia.

Ta tells EAL, "The Fun Shop is about FUN without rules, without focus on one brand or one look, but more of a happy joining of many brands from around the world—North and South America, Asia, Europe, and local Los Angeles artisans. We want our clients to choose and create their expression. There is also a cross-section of time, combining vintage, antique and one-of-a-kind with modern and currently produced collections. My team and I curated the space to represent each and every one of our aesthetics combined together harmoniously and joyfully. Our team is about individual backgrounds, ages and tastes united into a collaborative expression to create a new vision. We are a human collective of visual expressions and we are FUN, hence the Fun Shop."

In February, it will be redesigned with a "Spring Fling" theme, with retro-style furniture, outdoor pieces and a hand-finished feather floor lamp designed to embody a palm tree.

MiMASS isn't the only shop making waves; its parent shop, MASS Beverly, is launching the first-ever furniture collection and new book from architect Lauren Rottet, winner of Interior Design magazine's Best of Year award for her Dichroic Table, which MASS Beverly will have on exhibit.
