As winter winds down, there’s no better time for a design refresh. From upholstered beds trimmed in bullion fringe to outdoor tables topped with bronzed glass, here are some standouts from the latest launches.
James Dunlop Textiles dropped five fresh fabric patterns to celebrate the spring season. In addition to the washable, linenlike Banksia and the palm-frond-filled Canopy, introductions include the painterly Eucalypt, the sheer Nikau and the elegant Ambiant, which is woven in a blend of recycled polyester made from postconsumer plastic waste.
British designer Tabitha Bargh’s Poly line is pure upcycled perfection. The collection boasts five primly pleated, small-batch-produced lampshades constructed with Correx, a corrugated plastic fashioned from salvaged real estate advertising boards. The shades come in cone, cylinder and drum-shaped styles that can be used for pendants, floor lamps and table lights.
Soho Home’s inaugural outdoor collection is equal parts sophisticated and cool. Along with the 1970s-style Celia lounger and the tub-shaped Morrell dining chair, eye-catchers from the 21-piece debut include the glazed yellow ocher Selby coffee table and the Gaspard sofa, a curvy number with a wraparound frame and bolster-cushion backrests.
Lulu and Georgia released the sun-drenched Into the Light collection. The sweeping 124-piece series spans furniture, rugs, lighting and decor with highlights such as the geometric, outdoor-safe Avila dining table; the velvet-upholstered Lowry swivel chair; and Potts, a petite pedestal-style side table composed of solid marble.
Shiir Rugs rolled out eight new artfully executed floorcoverings. Hand-woven by artisans in India and Nepal using centuries-old loom techniques, additions include the two-tone wool-and-silk Walker, the Chanel boucle jacket–inspired Michi, and Sylvan, a mixed-pile enchanter adorned in an abstract rosette motif.
Los Angeles designer Francesca Grace debuted Somme, her first-ever furniture collection. The whimsical line features five neoclassical-style upholstered beds bedecked in undulating walnut-framed headboards and enchanting bullion-fringed bases, including the floral Estelle, the striped Colette and the velvet-banded Penelope.
Young Huh introduced the Kaleidoscope series into her ongoing collaboration with Akdo. The contrast-driven collection offers five statement-making marble mosaic tile designs punctuated by bold forms and monochrome palettes, such as the linear Stripe Calacatta and the patchwork-style Quilt Calacatta.
Fritz Hansen unveiled the highly collectible Utzon stool by Jørn Utzon. Originally designed in the 1950s while the Danish architect was working on the Sydney Opera House, the sculptural stunner is crafted from oiled beech and features a seat made of mushroomlike wooden orbs that evoke the spherical roof of the architectural masterpiece.
Kalon launched the first edition of its new Material Studies series. The debut re-imagines the Los Angeles brand’s bestselling Rugosa collection with outdoor-friendly powder-coated aluminum and bronzed glass. The chair, dining table, coffee table and side table are offered in three hues: deep red Oxblood, cobalt blue Lapis and creamy Lime White.
Lindye Galloway’s Artisan collection is a love letter to traditional handicrafts. The heirloom-quality selection draws inspiration from the Costa Mesa, California–based brand’s custom high-end residential designs. It features 29 items outfitted in timeless materials and old-school details, including the leather-accented Lily dining chair, the Katelyn dresser with brass handles, and the white oak Alena hutch, which showcases arched glass panels and reeded door fronts.
