At High Point last week, Brown Jordan debuted its two collections with Los Angeles-based designer Michael S. Smith: Arbre is a faux bois style furniture line including a lounge chair, ottoman, bench, loveseat and sofa with Sunbrella cushions, as well as an étagère, a planter, a console, and a range of coffee and end tables with Lily faux stone tops. The Deia line is inspired by a village in Mallorca, and features a lounge chair, sofa and daybed (also with Sunbrella cushions), in addition to an étagère, a planter, a console, and end tables offered with glass or aluminum tops.

“My work has always been about marrying high style with a kind of effortless ease and comfort attuned to the rhythms of contemporary life. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to bring that sensibility to the arena of outdoor furniture,” Smith says.

“Michael brings to the table an unparalleled design sensibility coupled with a deep understanding of Brown Jordan’s tradition of premier design, craftsmanship and quality. With an amazing attention to detail, he distilled the essence of every form, every finish, every proportion and every material," said Steve Elton, Chief Brand Curator for Brown Jordan. “Together, we’ve created a collection that feels both timeless and of the moment. We could not be more excited about this partnership.”
