We’re halfway through July, and the latest designs are as fiery hot as the temperatures. From stained glass–inspired upholstery fabrics to ombre throw pillows made from upcycled saris, here are some highlights from the latest launches.
Studio Robert McKinley debuted Monea, the firm’s first-ever line of furniture. An homage to the New York designer’s Italian roots, the minimalist collection includes seating, tables and lighting made from natural materials, such as Etna, a sofa clad in Belgian linen with sleek tubular cushions and a coffee table composed of solid stone and brass called Four Corners.
Blu Dot introduced its inaugural bedding collection. Woven at a family-owned mill in Portugal, the carefully curated line offers 12 sumptuous designs in an array of saturated colorways, including Egyptian cotton percale sheets, waffle-weave duvet covers and stitched linen coverlets.
SoCal brand StoneImpressions revealed a seasonal assortment of fully-customizable stone tile designs. The launch offers more than a dozen midsummer-inspired motifs—including the floral-patterned Melrose and the art deco style Lagos—in a slew of earthy hues including dusty rose, clay and seafoam green.
Le Gracieux premiered the Le Jardin line in honor of the Valencia, California–based brand’s 20th anniversary. The sunbaked series boasts five hand-printed fabric designs, including the botanical Zinnia, the geometric Barkcloth and the paisley-esque Pulicat, each available in nine colorways and inspired by previous collections.
Artist Sean Gerstley unveiled a characterful collection of table lamps dubbed Dazzle. Available at Superhouse Vitrine, the series spans five eye-catching ceramic designs punctuated by black-and-white patchwork motifs meant to mimic the razzle-dazzle camouflage used on early 20th century military ships.
Kravet debuted Gem, a colorful collaboration with Denver-based designer Nadia Watts. Drawing inspiration from the legendary stained-glass works of Louis Comfort Tiffany—who also happens to be Watts’s great-great-grandfather—the collection spans two dozen jewel-toned fabrics, such as the fuchsia-embroidered Hoopla and the geometric lime-green-and-turquoise Antiparos.
Rentrayage released an eco-friendly selection of pillows, quilts and throws in collaboration with India-based brand Auntie Oti. Hand-crafted using centuries-old kantha stitching techniques, the collection offers an assortment of one-of-a-kind soft goods sewn from vintage fabrics and upcycled saris, such as an overdyed indigo patchwork quilt and our current crush, the ombre-patterned Purple Abstract throw pillow.
Waterstone Faucets unveiled a state-of-the-art bathroom series dubbed Argonaut. The nautical collection features fixtures and fittings inspired by sailboats and submarine designs, including a polished brass faucet set with helm-shaped handles and a satin nickel showerhead with three different spray settings.
Backdrop debuted its second wallpaper collection. The maximalist line references everything from the murals of Jean Cocteau to the blooming wildflower fields of California and offers five vibrant designs including checkerboard-style Gambit, the blossom-filled Superbloom and the asymmetrically striped Taboo.
