Interior Designer

Selldorf Architects is an internationally recognized architecture and interior design firm based in New York City’s Union Square. The firm’s portfolio spans a broad range of project types and scales, including high-end residential, cultural, and institutional work, encompassing both new construction and the sensitive renovation of historically significant buildings.

We are currently seeking an Interior Designer for full-time employment.
The ideal candidate will possess a refined sense of design, color, materiality, and spatial composition, along with a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and detail. Equally important is the ability to collaborate thoughtfully with clients, consultants, and colleagues in advancing the aesthetic vision and character of Selldorf Architects Interiors. The position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to highly detailed and carefully considered interiors with a strong emphasis on architecture, furniture, art, and material integration.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Contribute across all phases of interior design, from concept development through procurement and installation.
• Manage multiple projects within a rigorous and collaborative design environment.
• Prepare design presentations, renderings, material palettes, and client-facing presentations.
• Develop interior design concepts for projects ranging from high-end residential to museum and cultural work.
• Design furniture layouts and select furnishings, fabrics, finishes, and decorative elements for client and internal review.
• Develop custom furniture concepts, drawings, and renderings.
• Coordinate and manage procurement processes, including purchase orders, proposals, budgeting, and vendor communication, utilizing Studio Designer software.
• Oversee deliveries, installations, and project coordination through completion.
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, vendors, fabricators, and internal

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline required.
• Minimum of 5–6 years of professional experience in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
• Demonstrated design sensibility and experience contributing to sophisticated interior environments.
• Strong knowledge of furniture, materials, finishes, and decorative arts, including familiarity with residential and commercial furniture sources and vendors.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also operating independently when required.
• Strong conceptual thinking, design development, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit required; experience with Rhino or other 3D modeling software is desirable.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Studio Designer software required.
• Ability to communicate design ideas effectively through drawing, rendering, presentation, and verbal communication.
• Appreciation for art history, architecture, craftsmanship, and thoughtfully designed environments.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, professionalism, and integrity

Selldorf Architects follows a hybrid work model based out of our New York City Union Square office, with in-office presence required Monday through Thursday and the option to work remotely on Fridays.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000–$105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, in addition to a discretionary quarterly bonus.
