This position is responsible for representing, selling, & servicing Fabricut, Stroheim, Vervain, S. Harris, and Trend throughout an assigned territory, including Washington, Oregon, & a portion of Western Idaho. Is responsible for growing territory sales volume & profitability by developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, & executing the sales strategies.The ideal candidate will be based in the Seattle, Washington area & will be responsible for regular travel throughout the territory.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Represents & manages Fabricut, Stroheim, Vervain, S.Harris & Trend in a professional manner.
* Visit each account on a consistent basis.
* Build market share by generating business through established accounts and prospecting for new accounts.
* Build cut order sales to increase profit.
* Consistently make required number of sales calls, meeting or exceeding all sales quotas.
* Compile data for required daily reports.
* Provide proper sampling to customers through advances sample book management techniques.
* Evaluate customers & their needs through effective use of printouts & other sales tools, matching product to customers’ needs.
* Develop & maintain good relationships with current & potential customers.
* Advises customer as to kind & quantity of fabric.
* Discusses features & qualities of fabric such as weave, texture, color & washability.
* Suggests harmonizing or matching colors of fabrics.
* Prepare & implement all aspects of a sales call.
* Must have knowledge of product, pricing, availability of fabric, & back-order substitutions.
* Must update sample books on a regular basis.
* Must be able to sell new programs and piece goods.
* Respond to customer’s questions on a timely basis, offering solutions as quickly as possible, mediating & resolving challenges.
* Interfaces with other departments to provide good service.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Ability to learn and develop knowledge of product lines
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability and willingness to travel overnight throughout the assigned territory, with travel potentially required up to 50% of the time
* Excellent driving record
* Proficiency in using GPS and navigating to various locations
Physical Requirements
The position requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, driving, and physical activity throughout the workday. Employees must be able to communicate effectively, read, hear, and see for extended periods.
Key physical requirements include:
* Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during an 8-hour workday.
* Frequent speaking and reading, with strong hearing and visual abilities required.
* Ability to bend, twist, reach, lift, push, pull, climb, and perform other physical activities as needed.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to perform repetitive hand movements, including grasping and fine dexterity.
* Ability to drive for approximately 2–4 hours as required by the assigned territory.
* Ability to navigate varying temperatures and humidity and, when applicable, work around moving machinery.
* Ability to safely operate a vehicle and use foot controls.
