We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Part-Time Design Assistant to support the Principal across all aspects of residential interior design projects. This is a freelance position with flexible hours, including some remote work. Candidates must be located in the NYC area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both creative and operational tasks, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide personal assistant support to the Principal including calendar management, scheduling, shopping, errands, travel booking, and day-to-day needs, organization, etc.
-Assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, finishes, textiles, and antiques; visit showrooms to pull and return samples
-Request pricing, lead times, and shipping estimates from vendors. Knowledge in Studio Designer a plus
-Support installations and provide on-site assistance
-Maintain organization of the materials library, project files (physical and digital), and overall office operations
-Draft and respond to vendor correspondence as directed
-Assist in preparing client presentations and proposals
-Based in the NYC area
-1–3 years of interior design experience preferred
-Familiarity with Studio Designer (a plus)
-Strong organizational and time management skills
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you will be representing the firm with vendors and showrooms
-Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
-Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
-Comfortable with dogs
