Leo Designs, based in Chicago, has been creating beautiful, high-end residential interiors for over 25 years. Founders, Georgeann Rivas and Stephanie Wirth, work on projects all over the world and are looking for a seasoned, design professional to join their team. As Design Director, applicant must have a deep knowledge and passion for all aspects of the design process and enjoy project management, interior architecture design/drawing and collaborating with outside project partners. You will work closely with the two Principal designers on all facets of design, while also mentoring the team. The position requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in interior design or architecture.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
-Knowledge of construction and design process with demonstrated experience managing construction site visits and project schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and according to the design intent
- Excellent project management skills and experience creating and managing budgets
- Proven experience, designing and drawing floorplans, elevations, custom millwork, furniture, and lighting with a high proficiency on AutoCAD.
- A talent for sourcing along with experience purchasing through Studio Designer
- Strong, organizational skills, attention to detail, independent thinker, self-starter, excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment, managing multiple problems simultaneously and effectively prioritizing tasks
- Managing client communication, presentation/mood boards and proposals
- Provide guidance and support to designers and interns as needed, fostering collaborative and inclusive team environment
- BA in Interior Design or Architecture preferred
- Candidate must have valid drivers license and car
