Fawn Galli Interiors is currently seeking a seasoned Senior Interior Designer with 5–10 years of experience working on high-end residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for interior design and will have the skills and drive to take ownership of projects from concept to completion.
Applicants should be highly organized, detail-oriented, have experience working on architectural projects and are flexible to work on a variety of projects under the direction of the principal designer. AutoCAD & Design Manager Experience is a must.
This position will perform a variety of project tasks, which may include:
1. Leading the development of design concepts and creating drawings, presentation boards, and renderings for client presentations.
2. Managing projects of varying scope, scale, and budget.
3. Producing and overseeing technical drawings in AutoCAD, including custom furniture, lighting, space planning, and work with project architects to provide any relevant interior architectural guidance.
4. Conducting field surveys of site conditions and existing furnishing inventories.
5. Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including specifications, schedules, drawings, and all related contacts.
6. Researching and sourcing furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallcoverings, and interior finishes; strong experience with tile, stone, wood, and kitchen/bath design is highly preferred.
7. Managing vendor relationships, obtaining pricing, and supporting project budgeting and procurement.
8. Leading client meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and maintaining clear communication and task tracking.
9. Mentoring junior designers and interns while contributing to studio culture and workflow efficiency.
10. Overseeing installations and styling of projects.
11. Utilizing Design Manager to prepare proposals, track purchasing, and manage orders through completion.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited interior design or architecture program.
• 5+ years of professional experience in an interior design firm specializing in high-end residential projects.
The ideal candidate will:
• Possess strong knowledge of mid-century Italian and French design (1950s–1970s) and historical design precedents.
• Demonstrate experience designing bespoke/custom furniture and working on renovation and architectural projects.
• Show proven ability to manage timelines, prioritize deadlines, and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exhibit confident client-facing communication and project leadership skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Extensive knowledge of design principles and aesthetics
• Knowledge of residential furnishings and finishes at all price points
• Extensive knowledge of NYC design resources.
• Experience working with AutoCAD: 5+ years (Required)
• Experience working with Sketchup
• Experience with Adobe Suite (particularly InDesign and Photoshop)
• Experience with Design Manager software: 2+ years (Preferred)
• Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and project management capability.
Exact Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
