Vibe coding lets designers make their own software. What are they building?

With platforms like Lovable, Claude Code and Codex, anyone can spin up a website, app or digital tool. Designers are experimenting, with intriguing results.

Like many interior designers, Morgan Baker was struggling with whether she should get on TikTok. This year, she finally bit the bullet and started posting—and at first, it didn’t go so hot. “What I learned is that you can’t put something out there and expect people to like it,” she says with a laugh. “Designers post things like ‘This is how big your rug should be!’ and no one cares, because everyone posts that. It’s oversaturated.”

Then she stumbled onto a different approach. “I saw a woman post, ‘I want to buy your art, drop your handle in the comments,’ and it was really interesting, because I source a ton of art,” the New York–based designer recalls. “I was just sitting around on a Friday night, and I posted, ‘Hey I want to buy your art,’ and it blew up. Overnight, the video got 90,000 views and I got 3,000 new followers.”
