Using the screen-recording tool Loom started as a way for Lilse McKenna to train employees on internal tasks—but it didn’t take long for the Connecticut designer to see how it could be useful for client relations, as well. She tells us how the videos help her team solicit feedback from clients on design changes that occur after their presentation.
We first started using the screen-recording program Loom as an internal training tool. Because so much of what we’re doing is within Studio Designer, we were finding that when we hired somebody who didn’t have any experience with the platform, explaining all of our protocols was time-consuming. Using Loom, I had my project manager start recording herself when she was entering new items or starting a new project in Studio Designer. Anytime she was doing something that she does all the time, she would just record herself. It records your screen; as you narrate what you’re doing or presenting, you see yourself in a little bubble at the corner of the screen.
