Does your firm need an AI policy?

If you’re using AI in your firm, it may be time to put some guardrails in place. Here’s how to get started.

If your gut tells you that artificial intelligence can’t compete with your design eye, you’re not alone.

Marta Pawlik experienced the technology’s shortcomings firsthand. “After permitting AI to create the new design for one of our properties, I was disappointed to see it sit vacant for a full month after the renovation was complete,” says the co-founder and creative director of Laik, a  luxury vacation rental company in England’s Lake District. That location wasn’t the only place where the technology’s design chops seemed to come up short: According to Pawlik’s year-over-year analysis, the firm’s AI-designed homes rented for 12 percent less than ones she herself designed. “While AI can predict what is fashionable, it cannot have taste,” she says. “I still prefer to select the final design for each property.”
