All at once, or piece by piece? 2 designers debate the best way to present a project

Two designers duke it out over process: Should you showcase your vision for a project in one sweeping presentation, or build it with approvals as you go?

Executive Decision

We start our client relationship with initial meetings to walk through the project to discuss scope, then gather as much information from the client as we can. Are they art aficionados? Minimalists or maximalists? We also inventory what they currently own that they want to incorporate. All of that information is used as our springboard to guide selections. From there, our team sketches ideas, gathers materials, and develops our vision for the space. We’re constantly fine-tuning internally to ensure that we are meeting the client’s goals while also creating something they’ve never seen before. By the time the design is ready to be presented, we are confident that we’ve created something thoughtful and exceptional. That’s the first time they see what we’ve been working on.
