“The Design Archive of Richard Schultz” auction will debut at Wright in Chicago on February 16, spanning 60 lots that include models, prototypes and furnishings created for the artist’s own design company.
“I began by studying architecture, photography, product design and graphic design. I felt born again. I was completely involved in it from the very beginning,” said Schultz, according to Wright.
Featuring sculpture and furniture created over the course of 50 years, the lots hail from artist Schultz’s own collection and also include sculptures he created while working with Harry Bertoia.
