We’re hot off the heels of High Point and statement-making collections are launching left and right. From plush, Persian-knotted rugs to parchment leather-topped table lamps, here are some of the most noteworthy debuts from the past week.
Ben Gaffney and Atlanta-based designer Chris Hardy launched Archivism, a new craft-driven furniture brand. The inaugural collection features six contemporary, American-made pieces with eye-catchers such as the solid wood Elmyr dining table, the three-legged Pyrn side table, and Edda, a clean-lined credenza designed by Norm Architects made in your choice of walnut, white oak or blackened ash.
New York designer Ryan Lawson premiered his first collaboration with French paint brand Ressource. The vibrant collection boasts a dozen culinary-inspired colors, including the deep gray Shitake, the golden yellow Neggin Saffron, the red orange Persimmon and the blush pink Rose Water.
Armadillo’s Panorama rug collection is a love letter to the Australian landscape. Available in an array of earthy hues, the five-piece launch is woven from pure organic wool and offers minimalist-friendly styles such as the Persian-knotted Thatch, the speckled Tempest, and the herringbone-patterned Crest, which draws inspiration from tree-lined vistas.
Vaughan teamed up with Calico Wallpaper for a limited-edition line of lighting. Available at the former’s NYDC showroom on November 15, the collection features a trio of table lamps—including the crackle-glazed Avebury and the brass Buckton—outfitted in shades bearing the latter’s hand-painted Fragments and Sumi patterns.
Mous dropped The Narrative Arc: Volume II, its second collection of dreamy artisanally made furnishings. Punctuated by sinuous silhouettes and sumptuous finishes, standouts from the architectural series include the curvilinear, cerused blonde oak Cassini tallboy; the eggshell-accented Culvert cube; and Stern, an elegant armchair adorned in a chocolate-stained burl wood veneer.
Mokum’s Modern Art series is a tribute to the abstract expressionist movement. The contemporary art–fueled line spans 11 painterly designs inspired by the works of artists such as Sam Gilliam and Mark Rothko, with highlights including the gestural Colour Field, the rhythmic Assemblage and the color-blocked Impastare.
Jenni Kayne tapped Dumais Made for an exclusive capsule collection. Designed to complement the tastemaker’s Farmhouse hotel in upstate New York, the debut boasts four one-of-a kind ceramic stoneware pieces, including a hand-sculpted table lamp—which is available in both short and tall sizes—and a pair of wabi-sabi vessel styles named Corral and Dune.
Belgian designer Justine Kegels partnered with Cosentino on Le Chic Bohème. Crafted in collaboration with lighting brand Modular, the striking collection also features a stacked, two-tone coffee table and coordinating side tables constructed of durable, quartz-based Silestone and built-in table lamps to boot.
Kelly Wearstler launched a limited-edition serveware line in collaboration with Italian brand Giobagnara. The collection, called Maris, is modeled after the fluid shapes of sea pebbles and offers everything from an extendable, marble-topped bar cart to leather-clad cake stands and cast aluminum bronze ice buckets.
Materia unveiled the Plateau collection at the Salon Art + Design fair. The stunning debut includes three sleek industrial lighting designs—including a table lamp and two styles of floor lamps—with leather shades composed of hundreds of hand-sewn parchment sequins.
Yabu Pushelberg debuted its first-ever tabletop collection, in collaboration with Japanese chinaware brand Noritake. The otherworldly line, named Hoshikage, consists of 18 artisan-crafted ceramic pieces dressed in of-the-moment celestial motifs showcasing a myriad of lunar shapes and shimmery speckles.
Unique Kitchens & Baths Introduced a fresh line of cabinetry in collaboration with Far Studio. Offered in eight versatile colorways and three distinct stain finishes, the debut spans six chic cupboard door profiles, ranging from the minimalist Penn to the ribbed Righter and the wainscoted Fairview.
