Illinois-based workplace furniture dealer Henricksen hired Katie Szpyrka as its new director of business development at its Chicago office. Szpyrka was formerly the managing director of real estate services provider Savills North America.
Lancaster Custom Crafted Upholstery welcomed Matthew Burns as its director of sales and brand strategy. Burns, who is based in New York, joins from entertainment company Paramount Global, where he was manager of events and brand experience. Scott Thornton, the vice president of business development, retired after 15 years at the company.
West Hollywood–based textile brand Sean Leffers hired its first-ever director of sales. Tiffany Wheat is filling the position after previously serving as the regional sales manager for Ann Sacks Tile & Stone.
Retail & Manufacturing
Atlanta-based lighting brand Currey & Company announced executive leadership changes. Ross Bradford has been appointed president after serving as vice president of strategy and business development for the last year. Brownlee Currey, the previous president, will continue on as CEO. Additionally, Mary Wilson was named vice president of key accounts (she was previously at Cyan Design, where she was director of design), and Drew Alden was hired as director of furniture after 10 years at Havertys, most recently as a buyer.
The 104-year-old North Carolina–based furniture manufacturer Fairfield Chair announced that Anne-Lindsay Beall has been elected chairman of the board, the first time in the family’s four-generation leadership that the role has been held by a woman. Beall previously served on the company’s executive committee.
Hooker Furnishings promoted Liz Keys to senior vice president of human resources. Keys had been the vice president of HR since 2020.
Mattress brand Saatva elevated Shari Ajayi to vice president of public relations. Ajayi joined the company in 2020 as its first in-house publicist.
Lighting brand Lusive Decor welcomed Jonathan Shepard as its vice president of sales for Lusive Decor and Monarch Lighting. Shepard was formerly the strategic key accounts manager for Better Designed Lighting.
Roofing product manufacturer Brava announced a flurry of leadership hirings. Cory Garrison is now West region vice president, joining from SRS Distribution, where he was vice president of sales and VP of operations for the West region; Kevin Earnest is now East region vice president, joining from IKO Roofing Products, where he was vice president of sales for the Eastern United States; Rod Guanche is vice president of the Southeast region after previously being the director of sales at Boral Roofing; Brad Stalder is the new Central Region vice president after holding the position of VP of sales for the North division at QXO/Beacon; and Aaron Scholl has been promoted from national sales manager to vice president of channel programs.
Design & Architecture
New York–based architecture firm Beyer Blinder Belle promoted Nathaniel Rogers to partner. Rogers joined the firm in 2011 and was most recently a principal at the company.
New York–based design studio Mazzarini & Co. promoted Cameron Burger and Caroline Fields from designer to senior designer. Burger joined the firm in 2019 and Fields the year before that.
BR Design Associates, a New York–based interiors firm, announced a flurry of employee advancements. Lauren Wilson has been promoted to director of operations from design director, and Silvana Ramirez is now director of production after serving as senior project architect. Raul Garcia-Moncada is a new addition to the team, hired as director of design after serving as the principal and design director of AGNC79.
The Birmingham, Alabama–based firm Christopher Architecture & Interiors welcomed Alan Williamson as its new director of commercial architecture. Williamson was previously a principal at the Atlanta firm Harrison Design.
Media & PR
Real Simple and Better Homes & Gardens welcomed Monika Biegler Eyers as their new executive editor. Prior to this position, she was BHG’s East Coast editor, a position she held since 2017.
PR agency Camron has appointed Lily Sullivan as its head of brand partnerships. Prior to joining the company, Sullivan was the head of partnerships for Big Night; before that, she was head of brand for wellness start-up Maude.
Industry Organizations
The National Kitchen & Bath Association has welcomed a new member to its leadership team. Ivana Molzen has been named chief marketing officer and digital officer; she was previously vice president of e-commerce at MasterBrand Cabinets. Molzen joins the leadership team that includes Bill Darcy, global president and CEO; Geraldine Morrison, chief partnerships officer; Stephanie Klatka, chief people officer; Deb Webb, executive vice president of operations and KBIS; and Nicole Young, vice president of finance and governance.
Ginger Hartford, senior director of business development for design at the Dallas Market Center, announced that she is transitioning out of her role after joining the company in January of last year. Lauren Van Zeyl, vice president of marketing for Lightovation, has taken over the position temporarily as the DMC searches for a replacement.
Contemporary art organization Frieze—which runs publications and fairs around the world—announced that Katie Sierzputowski has been appointed director of Expo Chicago. Essence Harden will join her as curator. Since 2020, Sierzputowski had been the show’s artistic director, while Harden curated Made in L.A. at UCLA’s Hammer Museum this year, as well as the Focus section at Frieze Los Angeles, which she will continue to do.
