What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
Inspired by the sun-drenched charm of the Italian coast, La Dolce Vita is a collection of fabrics, wallcoverings and rugs that invites you to slow down, savor every texture, and embrace the art of living beautifully. It captures the spirit of Italian living: romantic, effortless and timeless, yet with a modern point of view. At its core, the collection is a celebration of beauty, color and life lived with intention.
What was the starting point for this collection?
The collection began with a sense of femininity and freedom, explored through playful patterns and a touch of nostalgia. We leaned into bold, expressive color, while reimagining classic motifs by enlarging their scale, layering them, and recoloring them in unexpected ways. You’ll see this come to life through reversible chenilles, vibrant botanicals and a range of new midscale designs across all three categories.
How do you feel this collection pushes the brand forward?
La Dolce Vita introduces a more expressive side of Perennials, with bolder palettes and dynamic patterns that reflect the spirited rhythm of Italian life. At the same time, it marks an important step forward in our sustainability journey.
The collection debuts two new qualities: Farfalla and Aria, both crafted with high-performance, bio-based yarns derived from sugarcane by-products blended with our signature solution-dyed acrylic. These fabrics maintain the durability, fade resistance and luxurious hand Perennials is known for, while offering a more responsible material approach.
How does the collection build on or complement your other offerings?
The collection layers beautifully with our existing assortment, particularly through a strong foundation of solids that complement and enhance the new patterns. La Dolce Vita is designed to work seamlessly within the broader Perennials offering, allowing for thoughtful combinations of texture, color and scale.
What about the collection feels fresh and exciting?
All of it! Introducing medium-scale botanicals feels especially new for us. It brings a different sense of balance to the collection—expressive and versatile—and opens up new ways for designers to work with pattern.
What piece are you most excited to unveil?
One of the most exciting pieces is Scusi, a performance vinyl wallcovering that transforms an abstract painting into an immersive, large-scale design. Its allover composition features fluid shapes and vibrant color, reminiscent of an artist’s palette in motion. It feels expressive and energetic yet refined, bringing a sense of artistry and celebration into a space along with performance qualities.
Tell us about the materials in this collection.
Perennials’ 100 percent solution-dyed acrylic remains at the core of the collection, delivering the performance and beauty the brand is known for. This season also introduces our first bio-based yarn blend, which combines sugarcane-derived fibers with solution-dyed acrylic for a more sustainable approach that doesn’t compromise performance.
The rug offering spans a range of constructions—from plush Tibetan knots, including a lush shag pile, to soft flat weaves and vibrant hand-tufted designs.
For wallcoverings, we explored a curated mix of materials that balance durability with design expression. Scusi is a standout Type II performance vinyl, while Al Fresco and Flora are printed on nonwoven grounds with a sense of movement and color. Tinta features painterly abstracts on a textured paper weave, and Criss Cross brings a quiet refinement through its linen weave.
How do you envision designers using this collection?
We love the idea of pattern drenching—committing to a single statement print and carrying it across walls, ceilings, upholstery and beyond to create a fully immersive space. There’s also an opportunity to mix and layer, pairing ginghams with medium-scale patterns to create contrast and depth. We especially encourage using wallcoverings in unexpected ways, like extending them onto the ceiling to transform it into a true design surface.
Can the collection be customized?
Yes, like all Perennials rugs, this collection is fully customizable in both color and size, allowing designers to tailor each piece to their specific vision.
