C-suite news at Havenly Brands and MillerKnoll, masthead changes at Luxe, and more

From industry organizations to manufacturing brands, read on for BOH’s monthly roundup of arrivals and departures in design, media and more.

To the Trade
Havenly Brands, the parent company whose portfolio of six home-centric names includes Interior Define and The Citizenry, hired Kevin Weinman as its new chief financial officer. Prior to joining, Weinman was CFO at the luxury resale company Rebag.

Retail & Manufacturing
MillerKnoll appointed current board member John Hoke, who recently retired as chief innovation officer at Nike, to chairman. In other executive news, Jeff Stutz, the brand’s CFO since 2015, is now the chief operating officer. The interim CFO is Kevin Veltman, who was previously senior vice president of finance for the brand’s North America contract segment.

San Diego–area flooring company Cali welcomed Jim Curtin as its new vice president of Eastern U.S. dealer sales. Curtin joins from flooring brand Happy Feet, where he was vice president of sales for eight years.

Israel-based outdoor brand Keter made two new executive appointments. Louis Thurman fills the newly created position of president of Keter North America Commercial. Thurman was previously the vice president and general manager at Suncast, a maker of resin home products. Meanwhile, Alon Sehayek, who has been with the brand for over 25 years and served as Keter’s interim chief financial officer for the past year, has been named permanent global CFO.

Design & Architecture
Holland & Sherry Interiors welcomed New York–based Melinda Cedel as its new director of marketing. Cedel joins from Liaigre, where she was marketing manager for more than five years.

St. Louis–based Lawrence Group promoted Tyra Duren to managing director of business services. She brings three years of experience as the brand’s previous director of talent development.

Media & PR
Luxe Interiors + Design announced a string of promotions and hirings. Kathryn Given was promoted to executive director of editorial and brand content after joining the publication in 2018, most recently serving as style director. Alexa Mulvihill was hired as creative director after previously holding the position of senior art director at Martha Stewart Weddings; she’s also the co-founder of Permanent Press Editions, an e-commerce photography site. Jennifer Boles has been appointed senior editor of Southeast and features, and brings experience as a longtime contributing writer at Southern Home and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. Design, travel and food writer Kathryn O’Shea-Evans was hired as a contributing editor, covering the Chicago and Arizona regions.

Hospitality Design magazine announced a flurry of editorial promotions. Executive editor Alissa Ponchione has been promoted to editor in chief after 12 years with the brand; Caitlin St John has been elevated to managing editor from senior digital editor; and Stephanie Chen is senior editor after having been associate editor.

Nylon Consulting hired Brittany Chevalier McIntyre as its new account director. McIntyre makes the leap from media to public relations, after serving as Luxe magazine executive editor for seven years.

Industry Organizations
The Home Furnishings Association welcomed Peter Theran as its new CEO. Theran joins from furniture retailer Boston Interiors, where he was president from 2019 until August of this year. He replaces Shannon Williams, who left the organization in June.

The American Institute of Architects appointed Carole Wedge as its next executive president and CEO. Wedge served as CEO of architecture and design firm Shepley Bulfinch for 17 years. Interim EVP/CEO Stephen Ayers will continue to serve until January 1, 2026, with Wedge beginning her transition into the CEO role on December 1 of this year.
