A change at the top for Ruggable, Andrea Schumacher Interiors has a new COO, and more

From architecture firm hirings to a flurry of creative executive additions, read on for BOH’s monthly roundup of arrivals and departures in design, manufacturing, media and more.

Design & Architecture
Andrea Schumacher Interiors, a firm with offices in Denver and Santa Barbara, California, has expanded into the hospitality sector with the launch of ASI Studio. The new division, which will focus on hotels and hospitality-driven spaces, has appointed Matt Bosquez as chief operating officer. Bosquez has been the senior vice president of the private equity firm Partners Group for the last five years, where he managed the firm’s real estate assets, particularly new development, and collaborated with designers in the process.

Mountain Brook, Alabama–based Jeffrey Dungan Architects announced the promotion of Joel Solomon to partner. Solomon has been with the firm for 19 years and serves as principal and studio director.

New York–based Robert A.M. Stern Architects appointed Frances Calosso to co-lead the firm’s interiors department. Calosso was previously the senior manager of product design for Maiden Home, design director at Islyn Studio and the senior interior design project manager at the Rockwell Group.

KAI 360 Construction Services, an architecture, engineering and construction firm with offices in St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri, Atlanta and Dallas-Forth Worth, has expanded its staff in Texas and hired Sean Creque as senior project manager. Creque joins from the Beck Group in Dallas where he was a project manager.

Media & PR
Anna Fixsen, the former deputy digital editor at Elle Decor, is now Wallpaper’s U.S. editor. Fixsen was at Elle Decor since 2021, prior to which she was a freelance writer and a features editor for Architectural Digest’s AD Pro.

PR firm Steinreich Communications Group Inc. appointed Lauren West as director. She will work in the firm’s home furnishings industry group. West was recently the director of marketing for the DesignHouse division of Sherwin-Williams Industrial Wood business as well as head of communication and public relations at Natuzzi.

Retail & Manufacturing
Ruggable, the washable rugs brand, appointed Nicole Otto as its CEO. Otto was previously the global brand president at The North Face as well as the vice president and general manager for the North American division of Nike, where she spent 16 years. Otto replaced Nathan Baldwin, who served as CEO from 2018 until 2023.

Danish furniture, lighting and accessory designer Fritz Hansen announced its new creative director: Els Van Hoorebeeck. Before joining the brand, she spent nearly five years as creative and brand director for Copenhagen-based lighting company &Tradition, as well as head of interior design for five years for The Office Group, a flexible workspace provider in London.

Mattress and bedding brand Naturepedic promoted Arin Schultz to chief growth officer. Schultz has been with the company for more than a decade in numerous sales and marketing roles, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing.

Appliance company SharkNinja has appointed Linus Karlsson to the newly created role of chief creative officer. Karlsson brings more than three decades of experience in leadership, brand building and marketing, most recently as the chief creative officer for Ikea.

Kitchen design companies Henrybuilt and Space Theory—which share the same owner—have welcomed Nicole Murphy Wolfgram as chief revenue officer. Wolfgram previously held the same position at Dwell.

Fine Art Handcrafted Lighting, a luxury lighting manufacturer, hired Michael Perez-Caromano as its new national sales director. Most recently, he led the sales executive team in the central and eastern U.S. and Canada at Phillip Jeffries; previously, he held sales and showroom management roles at Knoll Textiles, Cinema Tech and RH.

Kitchen appliance company Fisher & Paykel promoted Dara Henricksen to design engagement director for the U.S. market. She has been with the company since 2019 and most recently served as communications and consumer marketing director.

Bathroom and kitchen accessory company Dornbracht hired Kara Roth as the director of marketing and communications. Roth joins from Duravit, where she was the director of marketing for two years.

Sakshi Khurana was named partner and chief operator for Dumae, the female-owned ceramics brand helmed by True Religion founder Kym Gold. She is the founder of Today’s Future, a bicoastal agency that consults on creative endeavors for companies that include Urban Zen, Donna Karan and Giorgio Armani.

To the Trade
Textile company Pollack Weitzner welcomed Dominick Mandile as its chief financial officer. Dominick joins from applied materials brand Designtex, where he spent 24 years and served as CFO since 2013.

MarketTime, a B2B sales technology provider for the gift, home and toy industries, has hired Terri Harwood as chief operating officer. Harwood runs her own consultancy firm where she serves as a fractional COO, consultant and advisor for organizations, as well as having been the chief experience officer for financial services company Payroc and COO for BillingTree.

Fabric company Crypton announced two new roles in the company. Kristen Schoenfield is the new customer experience director and Kyla Herbes is content marketing manager. Schoenfield was most recently the store director for Meijer and was previously the vice president of customer experience and sales for Bed, Bath & Beyond. Herbes runs the interior design blog House of Hipsters and manages over 100,000 followers on social media.

Industry Organizations
The Bienenstock Furniture Library, a design library collection in High Point with more than 5,000 volumes on design history, announced updates to its 2025 board of directors. Brian Simpson, who previously served as vice president and creative director of Alderman Company, assumed the role of board president; Caroline Hipple, the chief creative officer of Hooker Furnishings, is vice president; and Thomas Verellen, the director of sales for Verellen, and Lisa Kahn, the founder of Finding Sanctuary by Lisa Kahn Designs, are both new board members.
